You wouldnt use water simulation, you would use many water textures and GLSL to make it almost like real..

If you make a river with this, and your PC doesn't crash, it will lag like hell///

go to scene and look for the panel format, you will see a jpeg word. change it to avi codec. then i suggest that you use xvid or divx. download the codecs just to make sure you see them on the codec list. if you dont know much about codecs just use anything thats available from their.
