Haha every royal marine video I have every seen there's always without fail a snotty nose America chatting shit about how their marines are so much better, fucking grow up you arrogant cunts your brainwashed by all these films you watch
The USMC are like British regular infantry, the RM are in every way , except for numbers, superior to the USMC. Even US marines (that have met the RM) can admit that
The reason I like Ramsay is because he does things like this. This is a humbling experience for him, it should remind him of where he came from and where he his now. So many celebrities now a days (whether they be American or English it doesnt matter) forget where they came from, and become pretentious and develop a downright "Godlike" complex. Gordon keeps it real he's always doing the "commoner" type of things that people can relate too. Much appreciated. Great guy.
At least it's not as bad as PRMC, you only have to run it for the actual test, they had us crawling up a bloody stream for about 400 metres, doing sprints up and down a hill and piggy backs up another one haha! RT two weeks today ;), can't wait!
Good effort, even though he missed the 3.5 mile run to the common after scoffing your scran & then the 3.5 mile run & shoot back to camp. Well done & respect for anyone willing to step forward & try at least one of the four commando tests!
Finally a vid on youtube with NO dislikes! For obvious reasons! Good on him! I would love to be a Marine. But, I'm so unfit. And I'm turning 20, maybe getting passed the prime age? Anyone want to come and help me get motivated?
@rens2007 I'm relatively unfit and am gonna start RT in about 2 years - good luck and hope you pass, but you need to BE in the mindset, not to 'get' it. Nobody can help you get motivated, only you can have the Commando mindset.
Consider taking up endurance sports such as fell running or cross country and concentrate on physical form exercises.
A good idea is also to consider concurrent training like doing weight circuits and running together.
The most important factor to consider is even with all this training the commando course will still push you mentally to the limit as it is designed to do so.
@bighands69 many thanks for the advice. I already do a lot of this, always have done, but my definition of "unfit" usually means doing my 1.5-mile slower than 9:30. I've got it back down to 8:57 this morning, but yeah, great advice anyway. My problem is what I call "yo-yo effect". I'm either super-fit, running an 8:50 and doing 73 pushups etc, or I drop it to about 10:00 and about 50 because I am either super-healthy and strict with diet or I am so unhealthy and ONLY eat crap.
What your striving for is peak consistency. to do this you should consider peak interval training.
for example do your 1.5 mile but at a low time of say 12 to 15 mins. When at this time alternate between fast and slow intervals. Do sprints and walk level pace.
hey can any1 tell me, if i join as a commando with btec level1 public services and 3 gcses, can i gain more gcses and a levels (or equivalents) and move on to become an officer?
