This was only in the East Coast. I'm sure that those watching in the West Coast saw "The Heidi Game" in it's entirerity. Unless NBC wanted to pre-empt the game with "Meet The Press", which was a regular late Sunday Afternnon NBC Show after a Sporting Event.
If the people at NBC had had at least half a clue, both programmes would have been aired in their entirety.
At least people back in those days did seem to have a little more respect for children's and family entertainment--and Heidi WAS a product of higher culture.
