I feel guilty because I don't recognize seven of them! Well, two or three of those I've seen, I just can't remember their names. But even if I did recognize them, I'd still want to cry, because, let's face it, this is every Disney movie! Who wouldn't cry at this!?!?
FACT: Whenever someone makes a top animated movies of all time list, all of them include at least 25 Disney movies, almost all the Pixar films, a few of the Dreamworks & Ghibli films, and some other foreign films like Persepolis. However, what is confusing is that among their lists of childhood movies, there is the most mature, and darkest, animated film of all: AKIRA...
OPINION: I wish Star Wars was on the list. A lot of people out there say that Star Wars is the film Disney should have made.
I just love The Lion king, The Emperor's New Groove, The Princess and the Frog, Snow White, Mulan, Dumbo and Even The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad.
Hey, guys! Can you please check out my? list of all 51 Disney films. This is my first video ever, so if you have time do it. I will really appreciate it. And feel free to comment. Video name is Ranking the Disney Canon part 1, 2, 3. AND PLEASE COMMENT!
Anyone else notice that during 1:00-1:10, or Movies 21-27, they show slightly shorter movie clips? Since the movies were all from "Disney's Dark Age," were they afraid we wouldn't recognize them?
@tearsbehindsmiles: nobody gives a shit about what you're surprised at, this is the evolution of DISNEY ANIMATION. Its about where they came from and where they're headed to. You GO MICKEY MOUSE. WE LOVE YOU!
Dreams... i have dreams and i'm awake..and i'm asleep. And you..you are in my dreams, Your underneath my skin. This is the greatest video i've seen about the story of an animation studio. I think ive gained respect for WALT DISNEY! Great Mickey Mouse!
@clayrox117 I don't think they were counting sequels. None of the princess sequels (Cinderella's, Belle's, and Ariel's) were included. I don't think those are really counted as feature films in the eyes of Disney. I'm actually sureprised that they counted The Black Cauldron, since they've worked so hard to keep it quiet and ignore that they ever created it.
@TearsBehindSmiles They counted The Rescuers Down Under and Fantasia 2000, because they were produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation. Other sequels weren't, apparently. The Black Cauldron also was by Walt Disney Feature Animation. I guess if it's from one of the Walt Disney Animation Studios, it counts.
The films that were counted on this list were the films that actually had theatrical releases. The Black Cauldron was a threatrical release, and that's why its on the list....
@GothicZM Not that you're wrong, but if that were the only reason, then "A Goofy Movie" would've been on the list too. I's specifically the Disney Animation Studios in California/USA in general.
@Vdrusilla189 Christmas Carol is by Image Movers Digital, Robert Zemekis's studio Disney just shut down. They made Mars Needs Moms. This is for Walt Disney Animation Studios. Walt Disney Pictures, has released many animated films from other studios (Disneytoon Studios for example or British films like Valient or The Wild).
@Vdrusilla189 The film "A Christmas Carol" belongs to a subsidiary of Disney and Disney itself, only Disney marketed the film. There are all kinds of Disney movies are not madeonly marketed as: "Mars Needs Moms" and "You Again. "
I know it sounds strange, but...i love this trailer!!! :D It remembers me of those times in my childhood when I watched this movies. And i really love them until now!!! ;)
By the way: Do you know the name of this cute song?
In Europe Mary Poppins, bedknobs and broomsticks, Pete's Dragon and The Wild are in the classics line Even though they are not cannon. So in Europe the numbering is 54
@vickimec Could you be a bit clearer on what your referring too? I'm not sure what you think I've made an error with. I know in Germany they count those as well in the UK. This may stem from European countries having most releases under a banner (Germany uses Walt Disney Special Edition), Much like how the USA's Gold Collection on DVD or Masterpiece Collection included Mary Poppins and/or Bedknobs.
@vickimec Oh I know that It's on the WDAS website (BTW never source Wiki as it can be edited by anyone, that can give people the impression you've not done your research). The problem is that Disney is not the same across the globe. An example being that Mickey & Minnie are married in Japan, something not Recognized in the US. In Europe they have been numbering home video releases, which have been including the live action/animation titles. I rather have a straight 50 too, but Europe is Europe:P
I'm suprised; I collect the DVD's with numbers, but Though I see everywhere this is the 50th, on the DVD itself it says its the 54, can someone clear this up?
I'm 25 yrs old and I will always love the magical beautiful world of Disney <3 My baby girl will definitely have Disney in her world too! I can't imagine what the world would've been like without Disney....almost like imagining a world without colour or love or music....which is what Disney is most loved for. I've always loved Disney and I reckon I always will <3
Mars Needs Moms do not belong to Disney's animation studios in the classic, it belongs to a subsidiary of Disney did the "Christmas Winds" and "Polar Express Train. " This video movies are Disney's classic, the next film is "Winnie the Pooh"
Nope. 51st Animated is the upcoming Winnie the Pooh, which THANKFULLY goes back to its roots. None of that new detective show with girl we never heard of.
@nepomusik And it shouldn't take 73 years, either. BatB came out in '91, and 19 years later, they had reached 50. If they go at that pace, we should reach 100 around the 100th anniversary of Snow White comes around. Hopefully they'll make great movies and have a 2nd Renaissance.
