Ahhh, my favorite George Benson song! The BEST part is @ the end, w/ the backup singers, especially @ 3:22 when, if you listen real carefully, you'll hear the male backups singing SOMEthing in a low base. THAT S*** IS SO HOT! ...lol
George is one of the greatest guitarists... deep jazz, and can play any minor 7th, 9th with the greatest heart...here he's just doing early 80's soul and it is so g-damned beautiful to hear the joy in both guitar and voice... George, oh lord...long ago nostalgia and the people you remind me of... here's to you and thank you! (See:"Affirmation")
I'm a grown man that is very emotional listening to this.I don't think i've heard this in at least 23 years.Certain songs pop up in your head and if it weren't for YOUTUBE,many of these songs would be forgotten.YOUTUBE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my FAV GB Track. He's at his Best! I've seen him live once and of every performer I've seen, and there have been many famous names, he is without the BEST!
@jmillzz2 You have to give credit to Mr.Temperton no doubt, but without the "Q" it would never have happened. Whenever those two colllaborate it usually turns into platinum.
This was me and my girls song back in the day...we were definitely in love...or so I thought....perhaps it wasn't true love on her part because she left me for this rich dude that was married!!! ;0) ha!! anyway....even though the relationship is a recurring nightmare....nothing can tarnish the greatness of this tune...I've seen George twice in concert and it was a real treat...;0) ha!! too many hits!!!
This brings back memories of Oldchurch Hospital and its social club,Romford; a place not to be sick in but as a young male student nurse, the best place to be on planet earth in 1979!!
My sister passed in October and her partner chose this as her send off, My dad intro'd us to George so it was a double whammy. Promised myself I wasn't going to cry........ pah! that went out the window before the vocals started. Thanks for the music Mr Benson and my thoughts will always be with my Father and Sister whenever I hear this track
Love this, Pure class. Reminds me of Friday nights during the 80's in Macy's Bar, Bigg Market, Newcastle, UK. The Bar is still there, but sadly the music played is crap.

Wow! You guys i was in 8th grade at the time! This song does bring back great memories. However it has a totally different meaning some thirty years later. But I still LOVE it!!
Remember when a dime bag of weed was so big, so green, and so, so good! Those were the good ole days. And no matter how much money you made, you always had enough money to have a good time. I can remember having a house party listening to this great song and having the munchies and eatting everything in the house including bologna, cheese, and hoagie sandwiches, and partying till the early morning dawn. Thank goodness for the good ole days. I am still holding on to those days.
1980, Hearing this on KBLX Berkeley, 102.9, the Quiet Storm. Driving (gliding) across the Bay Bridge back to the East Bay after a night of dancing in the City (San Francisco) Sigh!
Back when songs had a soul-- and songwriters knew how to write hooks-- and this song has a fantastic bridge that comes out of nowhere at 2:45-- those days are gone, my friends.
Remember the album was produced by Quincy Jones...John JR Robinson on drums and Brazilian born percussionist Paulihno da Costa adds romantic flavor. Beautiful alto Patti Austin makes this great composition by Rod Temperton come alive!
@zeenan123 It's always nice to come across people on YouTube that REALLY know what they're talking about, cheers to you! Just about every name you've quoted here also had direct hands in Michael Jackson's record-breaking solo career, too.
Je suis nul en anglais mais fut un temps ou je connaissait les paroles par coeur de cette chanson. Bon je ne faisais que répéter et lisais bêtement les paroles sur la pochette du cd, j'étais enfant.
