Cheers - thanks for that, it was a fun wee piece to do, even if in places it's getting..erm..slightly less than entirely under control? :-)
As with most of my stuff, I came up with a few basic ideas & threw them together in a partially-improvised manner - never comes out exactly the same way twice. It's probably just a lazy reaction to my formative years of join-the-dots classical music, then learning 26-minute Prog epics.. :-)
@andyhgilmour ...that good eh? i've wanted to buy myself an octave mandolin for a while now...i've found many luthiers on the internet and narrowed down my options to Fylde and Fairbuilt...i've plently of time to think on it...thanks for your opinion...again, nice playing!
@mandohiker heh! I had a (very) cheap Rumanian bouzouki first, then looked at a variety of more expensive options for upgrading. The Fylde was sitting in Scayles in Edinburgh in godawful condition (intonation, action..everything - had been on the wall for quite a long time), mentioned this to one of the staff. When I popped back a couple of weeks later he'd done a top-notch set-up job on it, and it felt/sounded fantastic. Of course, I'm really a bass player, so... :-)
Terrific playing :) Bri

Thanks for the compliments - always gratefully accepted :-)
More bouzouki (but mostly fretless bass) stuff can be found over at my website - andygilmourDOTcom - if you're at all interested? :-)
Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy. Why Australian Tuning for GDAE? Bri

@trumarksurfnut
It's just an appallingly bad pun that appeals to my terrible sense of humour...if you say it all together it sounds like "G'day"... :-)

I love the Fylde almost more than my kids ;-)

Evening.
Nothing so clever, just standard "Australian tuning" (as I'm trying to get people to call it), GDAE.
I'm really a bass player...you can probably tell.
Cheers!
