hi. I have been thinking of becoming a truck driver. Do they train you or do you go to a school? How does it work if you live in another state?

@ptrhip what would you consider a lot more? A private truck training school puts you up in a hotel, that has to cost a lot. with the cc I would be home.

@ptrhip Do you know how they handle the training of females? Do you have female trainers? Is there a long wait to be able to train? I had called Prime and they had said the wait was 8-12 month for a female trainer to be available.

Hey Brenda, great videos! I just did my online training with Swift, next step is the DMV to get my CDL permit to head off to CDL school in Idaho. You and BigCatTrucker give great insight into the industry. Luckily I'm a single guy with no kids so being away is not so hard for me. Great industry to make some great money! i love your vids brenda...i drove a truck for 3 yrs (2004-2007) but decided to call it quits because i enrolled in grad school. sharkey actually asked me if i was interested in driving for them, but i told them that would probably stop driving trucks all together since i graduated from grad school. But anyway i love your vids!!!
