I don't think this was shot at the UFO club. It seems too sparse and well lit. The UFO was always packed, had low ceilings, and I don't think it had windows considering it was in a basement.

ncredible news. The BFI has only unearthed some of those thought to be wiped and lost forever TOTP episodes from 1967, and yes one has Syd's PF on TOTP performing (lip-synch) See Emily Play. They are showing these at the South Bank in Jan. 2010 so hopefully they might get booted and this piece of treasure will be up on the internet soon.
Interesting to have a testimonial here. Could you please write a book (or a passage) about your experiences? I would like to know how it was in there. Or did you forget everything when you were inside the club?
They had some seriously weird dance moves back then- 1:37. Looks kinda fun, actually. haha.
It's so weird hearing Macca talking about the Floyd. I know they both heavily influenced each other, and they recorded a room apart, but they've always been in different universes in my mind. Five of my favorite people in one video.

The music you hear is not the music they're playing. That crap drives my crazy. People don't dance to this. They're probably playing Arnold Layne or some more EMI/radio-friendly crap like that.
Paul grew a moustache to cover the scars while he was healing from the surgery he had after his moped accident. Since they were into the unity thing at the time the other three grew moustaches too. They decided the look fit in well with the Sgt. Pepper theme. Then everybody in the world grew moustaches.
You can see Paul with his chipped tooth and fat lip in the Rain and Paperback Writer videos.
Sweetie, I'm as big a Beatle fan as you could possibly track down. I was merely trying to make crack a joke. Wow, fun facts! I've read quite a lot of Beatle-books but this I didn't know. Thanks for sharing. :-)
I've read Beatles books too, honey, but a lot of these things I just know because I was a teen-ager in the 60's and I remember when they happened. Have a nice day.
The man with the glasses. Well he helped make the ambience and atmosphere of that time. He was there and alot here weren't. So it's bad luck, we lose.
most definately..and he came from Gods own Cambridge..Yes many agree with you and he played his last ever concert in front of the Guild Hall Cambridge England...A very sad day

KroMagnum60. You're right about the splicing. The John Lennon footage would be at the Alexandra Palace in North London in Spring/Summer 1967. Yoko would not of been on the scene together with John at this time. At least with Syd still performing with the Floyd. There could also be some of the Powys Square, All Saints Church, Notting Hill, in some of the complete original footage.
I would give up 10 years of my age to of seen this and the Powys Square Free School, and Middle Earth gigs. My cousin saw Syd and even though he loved Blues and Soul he rated Syd, bigtime. Oh halcyon days.
Love this version of Overdrive. Is it all UFO? I thought it was literally underground on Tottenham ct road. Yet here I'm sure I see windows sometimes in the background.
Good question. I did some research and most likely the said documentary was started before they all headed to the US for the DIck Clark American bandstand thing. A lot of BBC documentaries are lost forever. It is said that BBC recorded over and over many tapes. Not backing up and making dupicate copies.
I love the early Pink Floyd! when they were with Syd... this is the scaryness (in a good way) classic of psychedelic! Paul McCartney is another GOD in another hand of this video. gosh, too many gods in this video hahaha Xd
great quality...

Strange really what happens to your brain after too much excess in life, of course it's Nick Mason, I'm sure he would forgive me. A pure 'mindslip'.
However the fact remains that P.M. is a tosser if you never met him just watch the interviews on you tube, these will speak for themselves,
The joke was that he wanted to call the song 'I Love Me' not 'She Loves You' !!!!!!!
Ah well enough banter, back to my 'Life if Riley'

I think that "excess" has addled your brain in many other ways. I've seen plenty of the interviews, thank you.

Were you wanking when you watched the interviews? You should have paid more attention to his stupid vain words.
You know nothing of my excesses or my successes you bounder.
Anyhow this is about Floyd and not your obsession for the inferior 'cutie' Beatle.
You are obviously a homosexual and have a secret desire for PM
Probably a Cliff Richard fan too. Which one spink indeed, I think I hear your mummy calling she has some Linda Mac sausages for your tea. Enough!

I'd give up many years of my life to see this at the time of it happening.

Love this version of Overdrive. Is it all UFO? I thought it was literally underground on Tottenham ct road. Yet here I'm sure I see windows sometimes in the background.

Good question.
Feedback always welcome.
My original source for this snippet said UFO Club.
Seems it may have taken place in more places and spliced together.
I think this vidoe was actually longer for a TV show. I've seem other footage here on You Tube where John and Yoko arrive.
This piece I have here I think was the very beginning of this feature.

@KroMagnum60 what was the title of the documentary released before syd broke down
buewgewstmeiers 1 year ago
@buewgewstmeiers
Good question. I did some research and most likely the said documentary was started before they all headed to the US for the DIck Clark American bandstand thing. A lot of BBC documentaries are lost forever. It is said that BBC recorded over and over many tapes. Not backing up and making dupicate copies.
Keep searching.
