Ive raced quite a few z06s in my 2003 viper and no doubt you need to take the 2003 vipers stock rwhp from 445 to 485 rwhp just to run even with a stock 445 rwhp z06. They are impressive.

For all of the European big shots who think nothing can beat their ferrari's, Lambos, and Porsche's go look up just about any race with a zr1. I am just as big of a car guy as the next guy but when it comes down to it a zr1 will beat just about anything out there and thats before you upgrade it. For the GT look in the video discriptions- "corvette Zr1 vs Carrera GT_street line" and see what happens.

Cars like the Aveo, Cruze and Lacetti are on our market, and they are truly awful cars, I know this because I work in the motor trade. Ferraris and Lamborghinis are so much more expensive because of the remarkable engineering that goes into them. Bugatti don't even make profit on Veyrons, thats how good quality they are. If Chevrolet can sell corevettes for £45,000 and make a profit. It proves how shit they are.

@bfcricky Maybe you should visit a race track then. There's Corvettes and Vipers and Ford GT's all over the world. Obviously alot of other people like them too. If the towelheads have them over in bum-fuck-egypt, they're certainly lurking around the U.K., i'd suggest visiting Brands Hatch or Donnington (is it four N's or three?) or Silverstone. You're sure to see a few, lots of vette owners especially. They tend to be the "weekend warrior" type.

the main problem with these vettes especially the LS7 ZO6s is that they put down simply too much power once you step into it,talk about instant torque!some fancy electronics will assist the driver and make them have a faster start, like super nintendo nissan gtr,but real men drivers shy away from electronic assistance and try their best, the z06 is a downright BEAST stock for stock,not to mention modded, and barely controllable for most of those talking horseshit about them on the internet ! :D
@Abdelice a 911 is merely the "big brother" of the carrera gt, which was a top of the line low production numbers special series super sports car by porsche, a carrera gt brandnew cost way more than a 911 turbo s! the turbo s are the range topping models for the 911 series but again, still not above the half million carrera gt.

Just because one paid 450k + to achieve x amount of power does not mean it is superior to the other individual who paid half as much or in this case way less than half for the same power.some could care less if the chassis is hand-laid carbon with machined aluminum suspension; that is not cost effective. if one wants to pay for over-engineering, thats their business!

@camirocz maybe the driver of the 911 was not so good, or the car was in bad condition. With my Turbo I raced 3 different Z06s and beaten all of them. In my experience the 911 Turbo is faster.

The only problem with most Z owners is that they don't know how to drive to save their lives... I only have Corsa's, a K&N and Vossen's on mine right now and I can run pretty much any Turbo if its stock. Some guy in a 2011 Turbo S smoked me off a light a couple days ago though... Scary how fast that thing is. I want one.
It's actually funny how ppl are all in hype how the latest generation z06 almost beat the Carrera GT. Which is a 10 years old car. Formula one cars had almost 1500bhp in the 80's but nowadays F1 cars would beat the crap out of those formulas around the track with half the hp. You get my point?
The times on nurburgring cannot be used to bring out any conclusions at all as the drivers skill is at stake as not all of them are pro drivers. Still, falling behind 3 secs on a 12 mile race isn't actually called "competition destroyed". Plus some of those cars were made in 2003, 2006 and are only 3 secs slower around a 12 mile race to a 2012 ZR1 with super tires. I definitely don't call this competition destroyed.
Guys, the Carrera GT is still over 6 seconds BEHIND the C6 z06 on the Nurburgring... thought I should mention that since then we're talking about 100% stock cars with competent drivers :)
With that said, I'd still get the Carrera GT instead. There's no substitute for it's looks and sound!

For all of the European big shots who think nothing can beat their ferrari's, Lambos, and Porsche's go look up just about any race with a zr1. I am just as big of a car guy as the next guy but when it comes down to it a zr1 will beat just about anything out there and thats before you upgrade it. For the GT look in the video discriptions- "corvette Zr1 vs Carrera GT_street line" and see what happens.

Cars like the Aveo, Cruze and Lacetti are on our market, and they are truly awful cars, I know this because I work in the motor trade. Ferraris and Lamborghinis are so much more expensive because of the remarkable engineering that goes into them. Bugatti don't even make profit on Veyrons, thats how good quality they are. If Chevrolet can sell corevettes for £45,000 and make a profit. It proves how shit they are.

@bfcricky Maybe you should visit a race track then. There's Corvettes and Vipers and Ford GT's all over the world. Obviously alot of other people like them too. If the towelheads have them over in bum-fuck-egypt, they're certainly lurking around the U.K., i'd suggest visiting Brands Hatch or Donnington (is it four N's or three?) or Silverstone. You're sure to see a few, lots of vette owners especially. They tend to be the "weekend warrior" type.

Just because one paid 450k + to achieve x amount of power does not mean it is superior to the other individual who paid half as much or in this case way less than half for the same power.some could care less if the chassis is hand-laid carbon with machined aluminum suspension; that is not cost effective. if one wants to pay for over-engineering, thats their business!

The only problem with most Z owners is that they don't know how to drive to save their lives... I only have Corsa's, a K&N and Vossen's on mine right now and I can run pretty much any Turbo if its stock. Some guy in a 2011 Turbo S smoked me off a light a couple days ago though... Scary how fast that thing is. I want one.

The times on nurburgring cannot be used to bring out any conclusions at all as the drivers skill is at stake as not all of them are pro drivers. Still, falling behind 3 secs on a 12 mile race isn't actually called "competition destroyed". Plus some of those cars were made in 2003, 2006 and are only 3 secs slower around a 12 mile race to a 2012 ZR1 with super tires. I definitely don't call this competition destroyed.

Guys, the Carrera GT is still over 6 seconds BEHIND the C6 z06 on the Nurburgring... thought I should mention that since then we're talking about 100% stock cars with competent drivers :)
With that said, I'd still get the Carrera GT instead. There's no substitute for it's looks and sound!
