The "Harry Potter" films are recorded from the train scenes of the movies "The Sorcerer's Stone", "The Chamber of Secrets", "The Prisoner of Azkaban", "The Goblet of Fire", and "The Order of the Phoenix". The films you might want to record on a remake I want you to add are "The Half-Blood Prince", and "The Deathly Hallows".

the shots in the first film were filmed at (apart from Kings Cross) were on the NYMR at Darnholm , Northdale, Newtondale and Goathland was renamed Hogsmeade.
Also in the shot over Glenfinnian Viaduct at 1min15sec is 62005 instead of Olton Hall, you can tell by the non copper cap chimney and door hinges
@Bigaid Sorry but it is not 62005. It is definately 5972 Olton Hall. Oltons Halls boiler & smoke box is narrower than 62005s & the cost of hiring as second Different loco would be astronomical & totally ridiculous. Why would they pay to use a seecond locomotive when they had already paid for one. Look at the loco in the wide shot when harry is hangfing out the car. The whole top of the loco is filthy so the copper cap is going to be filthy as well isnt it.
@GeorgeUKCFC The whistle they used in the movies isn't the real whistle to Olton Hall. The whistle noises were from another locomotive type and added to the movie in Post-Production.
@OakViewFilms yes, this is true, and as far as I understand, the whistle recorded comes from an A4 class steam locomotive (an A4 is a locomotive such as the Mallard).
that kings cross station looks like Union Station in Toronto with concrete slabs instead of track crossings and underpasses, and Kings Cross isnt elevated where as Union is elevated.
LOL imagine seeing an American spec. Orion VII EPA10 bus in London instead of double deckers that drive on the left. i will make it so that they look exactly like TTC's, made for driving on the right side of roads instead of your left.
My dad has been on the Hogwart's Express and because I am a fan of HP he got me a book about it and had it signed by the driver and two other dudes. No joke!
@dogloverobx Yeah its a great shot of her in the Deathly Hallows though. Down at track level with steam billowing out & her coming to a halt. Im hoping that Part 2 will end at Kings Cross with Harrys kids getting on the train & that being the final scene
1:14 yep that is definitely 62005

I thought Hall Class engines had higher-pitched whistles.

Yeah, dude like 80% of The United Kingdoms buses are like that now anyway. It's not 1955. Total shame tho!
