@surfstang It is his job to ask the president difficult questions. Bush should be able to handle difficult questions, without losing his cool, whether they are loaded or not.
As far as CNN and MSNBC, no I don't really see any real STRONG bias, like for instance on FOX.
If your in the 20+% that is still in love w/ Bush and his policies than I guess the reporting could be perceived as 'biased' as most political shows on those news stations have been critical of his policies. That's just called reality. As far as your ideal journalist goes, they all have opinions, they're people. Maybe your thinking about anchors or field reporters who speak with no obvious bias.
Journalists ASK QUESTIONS!! That is how they report the news, by getting A N S W E R S.
Those that sit there and toss Bush 'softball' questions have no business covering the White House. They instead, could stay in their offices and receive emailed instructions on what to report. You mention bias. I think no matter how impartial you try to stay, listening to Bush and his non sequitur goofball answers would send anybody who cared on a mission for the truth.
my lord, the hubris! the hubris! !

@louise12345 I agree. Bush was unable or unwilling to answer questions he perceived as difficult.
