  • lol at "disk driver"

  • you look like that guy from mythbusters but skinnier

  • @axalot123 lol

  • @axalot123 Thank you :)

  • @axalot123 Thank you :)

  • damn she thick, big booty

  • @blvdnard Oh yeah :)

  • why pay $660 dollars to get it rapaired are you retarded in 2010 you could get a 320 gigabyte ps3 for that price

  • All of you guys blue ray board are on the outside casing mine's inside ... Doesnt' change anything but all videos i've watched had this type.

  • ..

  • My playstation plays everygamr I have except 2k11 and 2k

  • 782Matty You Should

  • I just bought a 160gb ps3 slim 6 months ago and am already having freezing issue's and disc loading issue's and i called sony they did a corrupted file restore over the phone with me, it worked for a little bit and still does but i can only play for like 10-20 minutes before i have problems again, i still have warranty should i send it back?

  • @782Matty send it back, I would..

  • My problem is that it was taken a litle more seconds to read the disc and make it apear on the screen.

  • Yestarday my ps3 after the first game i have put to play in the second one it was late to read the disc a litle than the usual! its because of the lens?

  • 8:40 removing that screw was my bigest mistake.

I cant get it back toghether cus everything just popped out

  • @TerrorScitz 9:50 those "teeth" are also on the inside of what i removed on 8:40, they keep popping out it makes me insane!

  • lmfao at 1st second of the video

  • you wouldnt have theese problems with an xbox 360

  • @TcISAiNT9 Well Xbox's had the whole red ring of death issue, but yeah I did end up buying a 4 gig xbox and am loving it thus far, so long as I don't break it.

  • @TcISAiNT9 lol please tell me you're joking? Unless your mind is really fucked up about the facts. 360 have 56% failure rate. Only the slim model has better hardware quality. Same as the PS3 FAT. geez.. kids these days.

  • @TcISAiNT9 yes you would, it just hasnt happen to you..luck is on your side are your not a gamer like most of us..

  • never mind..you meant push the racks foward. Thanx...im good..ps3 is back and running.

  • at 10mins ...push what down? you kinda swiped your hand so i dnt know exactly what i should be pushing down. My disc does not spin a all.

  • Having problems with one I just bought myself that has never RROD that I got insanely cheap as have a spare drive for it.

Was sold as not only reading blu rays for a few minutes then not at all, but fine with dvds.

Tried a dvd on it and it worked first time but I couldnt get the disc out at all! on its side or whatever.

Cant tell if the previous owner tried fixing it since he said he gave the lens a clean.

I wonder if the door is jammed.

  • i could have fixed that...oh well

  • Disc Driver?

  • i would have bought that from you

  • that sucks you had to do that, but I'v had my 160gb uncharted version ps3 for 4 yrs now not 1 problem still works like a champ actually I have a 3 yr old psp and 2, 5 yr old ps2 slims still in great working condition and all get played daily, but I'v also had 5 xbox 360s 4 original that RR on me finally bought a 360s but decided to sell it i guess it all boils down to luck for some people

  • since 2007 I had 4 different PS3 systems, they borke after one year and 2 months, sony never gave me a new one, I hd to pay the repair by myself. Now my other one is dead. Still a disc in there. Thanks for the video, this will help to get my game back.

  • @KingCorny93 Yeah Sony has been disappointing me for years so I no longer buy their products.

  • OMG!! its andy dick!

  • Thats 15 minutes of my life i wont get back.. :0)

  • i fix mine u wer so close to fixing it its kinda sad but the gears do need to be touching

  • @g24FU Really? I had no idea, well thanks for the comment hopefully people notice this comment so they don't make the same mistake I made.

  • what is the part at 7:52 called? it looks like mine doesnt have a spring

  • @TheLochie7 I'm not sure what I would call that, probably something like the door open button activator spring or something. It's purpose is to send a signal that the door is opening and a disc is coming in.

  • if the silver disk drive ribbon comes off wil the ps3 stil work????

  • @LeonLovesDub As long as you remove it using the latches and clips.

  • dude i understand your pain of damaging your pockets with 660 usd's but i cannot understand you fellows why don't you take care of your things you buyed ? i ddidnt damaged anything because i know how to take care of my stuff. and yeah i live in a poor and damaged economical country

  • @cazangeorgian IMO it is an engineering flaw on Sony's part. I take full blame for being in a hurry and not noticing a small piece of plastic, but I believe it is Sony's responsibility to design and create durable systems that can take some wear and tare. I think Sony was negligent with the PS3 in this manner and did not make it as strong as it should have been. I've had a number of incidents with Sony and I was just done with their lack of regard for game system integrity.

  • nice dums

  • @KOMUCR7 Thanks! It's an orange county drum percussion set, I'm still a beginner and don't have much time to play but I love drumming.

  • Mine will finally auto insert and read, but won't eject.

  • Try plugging it In now it might work hahah

  • "Like Dexter!"

    LOL

  • I guess this video doesn't help me to fix my PS3

  • ha 35 dislikes by Sony fan boys

  • why did u put the tape in? its a blue ray/cd drive?

  • Girls are so brutal :x

  • I checked out your video cause Im now having issues with my disc drive, thanks for taking the time to make the video the information that you give. I was not expecting that ending though... funny as hell.

  • @keam27 Thanks! Yeah I try to give as much information as I can before I ultimately destroyed it. A bunch of people are angry that I destroyed it, but it was worth it for me.

  • 13:07 really fixed all my PS3 problems could've gotten to that point sooner...

  • How does the drive pull the disc in?

  • @B0BTEX Once you push it past a certain point the arms come down on either side and push it in the final distance.

  • @Albino7122 Really? I always thought it was grabbed somehow because it seems like you barely put the disc in and it goes, so the arms push against the disc which makes it go in then I guess.

  • @B0BTEX To be honest I'm not completely sure. You're right about the PS3 seeming to grab it right away though. Hmmm, I would check somewhere else, I was really doing a lot of guesswork with my repair attempts and I failed in the end so I'm not very good with the inner workings of the PS3.

  • Dude your blaming your own problems on Sony. Its your own fault that the disc drive was messed up. I've had my ps3 for 5 years and ive only had to take it apart to clean it. Ive also fixed friends ps3 systems by taking them apart and i have had the problem of taking the disc drive apart, but it was your own fault that your disc drive fell apart. If you dont like what happened, next time pay attention to what your putting into your system.

  • You have an almost "regal" tone to your voice! haha

  • ya see what happens when you don't make another appointment to see your doctor? This could have been you! :D

  • Very helpful and informational video, though.

  • I noticed you said at the end it wouldn't read it, and that was the last part. I had a PS3 which wouldn't read discs, and the last part of the problem was usually a bad laser or motor, which can be replaced. That should resolve it, PS3 should then be able to read any disc.

  • @krzyszw Thumbs up for anyone searching for the resolution.

  • best part of the video 13:08

  • Hey thanks but before i do it, my PS3 was working fine but i took a game out, went to put another in and it wouldnt let it in. Nothings in there and i was playing my PS3 earlier today but now..So would this work for that? Please respond.

  • @masterassassin7 I'm not sure if this would work for that, I'm not guaranteeing that my video will work, it's just some tips and solutions I tried. Remember, in the end none of my solutions worked, so only try it if you're desperate and not willing to spend the money to fix it yourself.

  • @Albino7122 Ah, Well this video shows a detailed way to assemble a PS3. At 7:46 is that what wont let discs into my PS3? Or at 8:43 , Is that it? Because disks cant get into the ps3, its acting as if a disk is in there, but i already one out. And even parts later in the video might be the source of my problem. But i want to see if i can fix it myself before i take it to one of the service shops to get it fixed.

  • @masterassassin7 If both the metal piece had come undone and the plastic pieces were locked in place, then both could be your problem. Whatever is not normal when you open up your PS3 is what you need to fix, if you can't find anything then I would recommend taking it to a professional.

  • @masterassassin7 I had the same problem awhile back open it up and play with the gears a little but gently try not to break anything it worked for me

  • @TR1F3DAGOD Thanks man, i just need to get new tools to open it up. None of mine fit in it, Gonna have to get some tomorrow.

  • hey albino bro what should i do in in this situation... i was trying to disengage the left arm thing where the gears are but it wouldint move so i pushed a bit harder and the hole thing just flew up, it dosent seem broken i just cant figure out how to put it back in.

  • @TheAbner94 Look to see what held it in in the first place. Did it snap in place? Maybe there was a small pin or clip. You might be able to slip it back in if nothing broke, just be careful.

  • i added this video to my fav to laugh when i am sad!

  • @pavgta4king Glad I can help cheer you up.

  • WTF!!!! are you a complete idiot?!? That was fixable and you destroyed it! Just like the pixel problems on the psp you mentioned, duh, replace the lcd screen. even if you had no idea how to fix it, there is a magical place called ebay, where you could just buy the disc drive to replace in the system or get an overheated ps3 (with a perfectly usable drive) for $30.

  • @fookschool I've talked to several people with your concern and they always freak out the same way. The point I was at with my PS3 I was fed up with it beyond belief and I was done with Sony. There is a point in life where some things are more important than money and technology. The satisfaction of watching this PS3 be destroyed is one of those instances.

  • @Albino7122 you dont understand, its a complete waste to do that, I dont like the xbox 360, however I would never just destroy it b/c I hate the system. And if I completely despised it that much, I would buy a completely broken one to destroy, or at least offer a trade with someone that needs a ps3 since theirs may have overheated and you could've MADE money off it AND have a bad PS3 to destroy, everyone is happy.

  • @Albino7122 holy crap dude, you've got issues. You could've given it to someone else who actually wanted a PS3, it's not a hard fix. What a waste, just for a bit of youtube attention..

  • lmfao to the ending of this video>>>

  • you throw like a girl

  • i respect everything u did by putting up this video but it dint help me had mine for about 3yrs now put my new game rage in witch is awsome in my opnion disk wouldnt go in unles i whould shuve it in so im looking for some help thiunk ill try graigs list

  • hahahahaha

  • the ribon thing is 80gigabite onle

  • Comment removed

  • so did u fix ur ps3 or broke it even more

  • @robado100 I'd recommend watching the end of the video lol. But if you don't want to, no I wasn't able to fix it and I ended up smashing it on my back porch out of frustration.

  • @Albino7122 WHAT? why do u have this video then???

  • @hotyellowkeedy I'm hoping that what I tried to do to fix it might actually help someone else even though it really didn't help me.

  • ohhh I typed the last comment before you went Bruce Lee on the ps3 lol

  • U should make another video on how to put it back lol... seriously please

  • 3:34 I have a 40 GB and mine is covered with white "tape"

Do I Remove the tape? and how bad is it if I cleaned out my ps3 and had more dust then I had in my house lol

  • @PoshPartyESP I do not know since I did not have the 40 GB model. I would look up other videos that are 40 GB specific. As for the dust, it's good to get it out off your electronics, so you should feel good about that.

  • @Albino7122 =D I DID =D This vid actually helped me out with the dust and after I put it all back together and turned it on It wouldnt eat my disc you kinda had to force it in their =/ I'll fix it morning tomorrow.

    Thanks for the vid.

  • thx for video it have helped me alot

  • @TheJoker9801 yea helped clean out my ridiciulusly really dirty ps3, It had so much dust that as soon as I opened it up a shit load of dust fell.

  • My PS3 accidentally fell from about seven feet from the floor. At first, it would read the discs and all, but would make a whirring sound while turned on. After about two weeks the disc just jams before it completely goes in. Maybe the mechanism is jammed, but if it's a piece of it broken got not much choice. I won't trade for a Slim since those can't read PSX games, which I still enjoy.

  • @mirerito same thing happen to me i been looking everywhere on how to fix it i've had it for 10 months and i cant do the 1 year warranty thing because they will take it as abuse and not fix it this is bullshit

  • i did it all and now it makes this screaming

    sound like; fiiiieeewwwiiieeeekk

  • @luceathome Make sure you are very careful when putting it back together or doing what I did. I don't guarantee that what I did will work, it didn't work for me, but I hoped that maybe it would help others. Good luck on your problem and I hope that screaming goes away.

  • Dude you know you could of just bought a new PS3, switched it by putting the broken PS3 in the new PS3 box then you could of taken it back a few days later saying you got 1 as a birthday gift. That way you'd have a bran new PS3 and really didn't pay anything for it

  • @jreed20446 While that might work, my morals would stop me, I would feel too guilty.

  • @Albino7122 Could of found a repair shop then, like where did you buy the PS3 from?

  • @jreed20446 I bought it from a Gamespot, but the warranty was expired. I know I could have sold some of the parts, but I was so frustrated after trying to repair it that destroying it was worth it.

  • @Albino7122 Did you end up buying a new one?

  • @jreed20446 No I ended up getting a 200 dollar xbox and now I just play mostly used games to save myself money.

  • @Albino7122 thats why they made slims its much Better than xbox but im happy for u :)

  • i didn't unattach the strip from the black thing am i and trouble help please!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheTj48 if the string didnt rip then no cuz if it did then either you can solder the wires or go with a technician and probably pay more than u have 2

  • will it work for ps3 sllim!!!!

  • ok i tried this the thing he is touching at 8:58 you want to take those off and make sure they are secureley on by taking them off then putting them back on after i did that my ps3 seemed to work but just a bit slow a retracting the discs

  • My disc doesn't spin at all in the drive. After I realigned it though. How can I fix this????????????

  • @Assassinator237 Try following some of my tips, if they don't work there are many other videos on Youtube on this topic. If you don't want to take the risk, find a repair shop or sell your PS3.

  • Lol yall should watch this " Closed Captioned " Ctfu ! pahahahahahaha

  • O shit

  • plz someone reply: my ps3 makes a white line on my disc if you have this problem too i know im not the only one plz reply

  • @tyronefootball100 I'm pretty sure I had this issue with my PS2, I think it means your PS3 is cutting the discs as it reads them so you need to address this issue immediately.

  • ahhh!! noooo!!!! ahh!!!! poor ps3 :/

  • the best way to open it is to get a sledge hammer and crack it like a nut, and then phone your parents and tell them you had a miserable childhood.

  • well its ur fault that u didnt look at the disc properly

  • o_o My disc drive doesn't look like that on the inside.

  • my ps3 has stopped spinning the discs, and im thinking about taking it apart and try to fix it,what should i fix in the harddrive/gameloader thing and how will i fix it?

  • @TheW4RR10R I would just follow all the steps I point out in my video. Be careful to not break anything and maybe your PS3 will start spinning discs again, but I'm not guaranteeing anything since I was never able to fully fix mine. Your problem may be an electronic issue. If you don't want to damage it any further I would find a professional repair shop or just sell it for parts, if you'd rather watch your PS3 die, I recommend a ladder and hammer.

  • @Albino7122 I got a free ps3 cause the guy thought it was broken. The blu-ray lens wasn't reading anything, i cleaned the lens with eyeglass cleaner, put a lil on a paper tower and just touch the lens, don't ever rub anything.

  • I've taken apart my blueray drive and the build quality is so crap. The 6 grey gears on the front bit that lifts out just fell out when I took it off. Also the grey things at 10:42 shouldn't be able to come off so easily. There should be a screw holding that on.

  • your gray things,on 8:36 in the video. they have little springs so they can move not move free lee.

  • he had 2 be white -_-

  • why would you did you smash it it is $600.00 just buy a new dvd drive for 60 get a life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how meny people did not get helped by this vid

  • why would you did you smash it it is $600.00 just buy a new dvd drive for 60 get a life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why break it, could've sold it on ebay stating the problems with it, and you could've got a decent price.

  • @MyNamesOnYourMouth At the point I was at, the satisfaction of destroying it was worth it.

  • Not only did it cost you over $600 bucks, it also cost you loads of time breaking it down and fixing it, then it cost you more time and effort smashing it to pieces, THEN spending even cleaning it all up... lol I think it got the best of you.

  • @NewToTheLyte I've had a history with sony products not working for me, so yeah I did go a little insane, but it was totally worth it.

  • white people -____- smh

    but it still helped

  • @ximperfection5 lmao, my thoughts exactly

  • XD I hate Sony I remember the last time i lost my mind.

  • why you ass thats messed up

  • why didn't you just send it to sony instead of smashing it?

  • i just opened mine up and it doesnt even have that clear plastic thing!!! where can i get a new one??

  • you should of sended the ps3 back to sony so they could fix it. Yeah itll cost money but maybe itll be worth it

  • well I followed your video but now my ps3 won't even take in discs no matter what I do. Even if I push it in it won't take it in

I got a PSP UMD disc stuck in there because of my little brother. Got it out successfully but now it won't take discs in anymore.

  • @YoMama844 Oh that sucks I'm sorry. When mine broke I actually put it back together several times and different things would not work each time. Try fixing the things again and making sure you put it back together carefully, each problem is different so something might be different about how yours broke. I'm sorry my video didn't help you, good luck with your PS3

  • @Albino7122 No no its fine. Your video actually (and 1 or 2 others) helped me get the PSP disc out successfully. Before I disassembled it my PS3 would take in discs fine but it was blocked by the PSP disc stuck in there.

What could be wrong with my ps3? I'm pretty sure I put everything back correctly. I'm just wondering if the ribbon you took out at 3:29 has to be attached at the end for everything to work correctly. Any help would be great :)

  • @YoMama844 Yeah it is supposed to be attached, I broke the clip that holds it down the first time I took apart my PS3 that is part of why mine wouldn't work again. There are several factors that a PS3 uses to play discs, when it first comes in the flap that the disc pushes has a a little metal bar that activates a sensor that causes the magnets to come down and lock the disc in place and spin it. Make sure the metal bar is properly aligned and reset the worm gears on the disc holder help.

  • @Albino7122 Some of these tutorials on youtube confuse me. And I think it's because they show different PS3 models. My ps3 model is the 80gb 2usb port one. I don't see a metal bar. However, I did break the falp accidentally that holds the ribbon to my ps3 blu ray drive in place. What should I do? I have some duct tape I can use to tap the flap and ribbon back but does this mean my ps3 is just completely broken and I should just give up or is there a chance I can fix this?

  • @YoMama844 Well I was never able to fix mine (obviously I smash it at the end lol), but everybody's is different. If you can't fix yours maybe a friend or shop can. If you don't want to spend any money then you can actually sell some parts of your PS3 for money. If you just hate the thing and are sick of it, you can always beat it with a hammer and film it for good laughs.

  • @Albino7122 Thank you so much for your help. I'm confident I can fix mine and I did (I got the PSP disc out) but now I just hit another rock wall. I'll try to attach the ribbon cable back properly. How should I do this? Just tape the flap on with duct tape? Will that fix my problem? If it doesn't IDK what else is wrong.

So is the ribbon really that important? I thought it was just to kep the blu ray drive in place lol. I'm confident I can fix it I just don't know what TO fix lol.

  • @YoMama844 I don't know if tape would be good enough, thats what I tried and it didn't seem to work much, but maybe. I think the ribbon is important I think it transmits signals so it has to be connected, I don't really know for sure I'm not big into digital electronics.

  • @Albino7122 damn it why did I break it in the first place!!!! I'm so close to fixing my ps3 I already got the PSP disc out but now it won't suck discs in. What should I do I found the clip that holds the ribbon should I tape that on too?

Please help me with this I know i'm close to fixing my ps3. What do you think I should do. Your video helped me get the PSP disc out and I really don't know wtf is wrong with my ps3 now lol.

  • Thanks this might help

  • Why would you put that in the with the disc?.....

  • Hey this might help me out very soon, so thnx in advance. Great vid either way. Super job.

  • @jice12 No problem, glad I could help :)

  • perfect music at the end

  • dude! u destroyed it and it didnt have the yellow light of death? u could've salvaged the good parts! just junk the bluray player!

  • bravooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you hit that thing like a wimp

  • @lampo85 That would be because of two reasons, one: It's tough to destroy something you spent $660 dollars on because your subconscious mind tries to stop you, and two: I am a wimp

  • @Albino7122 fair enough...lmao

  • thanks for the help!!!!! great video man!!!!!

  • @210galvan No problem, good luck with your PS3 problems I hope all goes well for you

  • I don't know how you expect to fix it with that hammer.

  • Do you know how to test what is wrong with your PS3 drive? I'm not sure if it is the motor or laser or what....But it's not reading discs. And it's not like I can just up and purchase another drive unlike the 360. Can you give any advice for me?
