A great video. However the triton doesn't have a 'stinger'. That which I think they are calling a stinger is actually an eye-stalk. Tritons use their large shells to typically pin down their prey and then use a special structure called a radula to eat their prey.

yes, the blurb about "the stinger" needs to be removed. it's the radula that transmits the paralysing saliva, causing the crown of thorns to go limp.

i dont think its eating the star fish. nothing eats a star fish (exsept crazy chineese people) snail ony eat sea weed. i think the seastar is eating it. star fish usaly cover the shell of a (clam,crap,lobster,snial,ect) at eat it from there, poor snail i wonder if you helped.

The Triton trumpet is in fact a predator to sea stars and mollusks

The crown of thorns was fed to the triton trumpet in the video. The footage was taken in Kauai where crown of thorn sea stars are a nuisance that kill coral. They were introduced some time in the past and have been a problem for some time

You are right Crash, the Crown of thorns is a poisonous sea star, but the "snail" or Triton Trumpet is a natural predator of the crown of thorns sea star.
