I have a question - who is the man to the left of Gary playing percussion? I thought it was Wally Baradou but have been told it's not him.
Any SENSIBLE answers please? I know that Mark and Nathan King, Mike Lindup, Gary Husband and Sean Freeman are in this videoclip, the other person I have no idea who he is!!
Just goes to show that when the good artists sing live, they acually do sing and not lip synch like a lot of so-called singers today. This group is just timeless and their music will always reign supreme, in my opinion.
i love the 80's becaus those were the days that i was in my 20's and live was great without any problems like work, paying bills
etc. I had loads of friends back then, and we al listen to level 42 and other great bands and had a good time, and the more i listen today, the more sad i become because i longing back to those days that never wil come back again. Anyway, thanks for putting this stuff on you tube, and i hope that level 42 will come to holland some time real soon.
Just borrowing my daughters comment box. My fav band in the 80's. My son has just phoned me & asked who sang this song & when I said Level 42 he said that Mark King used to live on the estate in Wareham where my son lives now & is going out for a drink with him 2morrow. : )
I guess he got tired of touring with the band or didn't like the music direction stylistically that the band was going in. I believe Boon left for the same reasons. But Phil still co-writes and performs some drum tracks for the band now. Boon has co-written some of the newer tunes from Mark's solo works and a couple of songs from the 'Retroglide' CD. I guess they just prefer to stay out of the limelight.
Im pretty sure its Gary Husband.Hes one of the best drummers going aroung.Hes very good in the groove department.Watch other vids with him like STARCHILD live and he really shines,no punt intended.
Fantastic concert, we were upstairs for this one. My friend Henry went to mime the piano fill; you should have seen the look on his face when it was replaced by the sax solo!
Wonderfull to see these guys are still together, especially with Mike back on keys. It gives it that extra Level flavour that's been missing all those years. Great to see Mike brought his Prophet and Rhodes along as well.
Superb Stuff,Check out the new CD Retroglide its excellent, They just seem to get better have caught the band live on all of their tours, just love the band
This is priceless. I really love Level 42 and am in awe of Mark King's bass and vocal abilities. I hope they tour in California, I still have yet to see them in person. There is such a shortage of videos for them, so this posting is very much appreciated.
mybass they did come to canada in the late 80s ... thats when i saw them .. that was 20 yrs ago .. i m glad i did when i had the chance ... but i agree europe is lucky! its nice to see mark has inspired so many on the bass :)
I was at this show in Cardiff, Basingstoke, and Bristol. I would like to think I started the Whoa Whoa Whoa part in Starchild at the Anvil/Basingstoke show. What a great series of shows. SO EXCLUSIVE

You can hardly find a musician who interpreted their subjects so well in the studio and live. So level42 is different from the others.

I need to visit the UK so I can see this band. Don't forget to read Anthony Ismael's DEEP GLANCE. It's a story of friendship, love and politics.

What a great version! Shame it wasn't recorded. I love this song when Mark manages to underplay the bass line! Gives the song some real soul
