  • nooo Dios!!! tambien pitbull aqui????!!!

  • This song was 40 years ago no.7 in the world charts #carpenters

  • cool! I feel sad for her. so much God-given talent.

  • she was a hot chick .to bad she didnt find that guy to lift her spirits.what a waste of a fine women.and that voice rip karen thanks

  • She's so thin. Probably during her last years. :'(

  • @manikquin This was in 1972, 11 years before her passing

  • I literally hate the four people sent from Hell who disliked this video.

  • This vid is popular on Senegal

  • quero manda todo mundo toma no cu

  • Notice the link has "Kc" at the end. Weird.

  • One of my all-time favorite Carpenters songs pretty much along with so many others of their songs. Between Richard's arrangements and Karen's absolutely phenomanal voice, how could you go wrong. My family had the opportunity to see them live in Lake Tahoe so many years ago, and we were NOT disappointed in the quality of program. Theirs is a style that many will copy but no one will ever duplicate.

  • CarpentersVEVO... Oh dear...

  • Why do you say that?

  • its absolutely amazing that, that powerful beautiful voice came from that terribly emaciated body. incredible voice I don't think i've heard that kind of power and emotion before or since.

  • amazing voice!

  • all i will say is simply this? you haters are scum karen had a very tough life to deal with never mind you bashers you worthless puke that wanted to make her more than what she really?? a very simple loving young woman that wanted to share a talent that god gave her!! I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU KAREN AND YOUR BRO WAS A TRUE TALENT IN THIS MIXED UP WORLD GOD BLESS YOU BOTH

  • I would have loved to see Karen do a nude pictorial. Look at those breasts popping out. Great figure. And she can sing. Perfect combo. No need to lose any weight. We miss you, Karen.

  • She looks gorgeous and the video is excellent !! So sweet

  • Just think... if Karen Carpenter had eaten Mama Cass's ham sandwich, they'd both be alive today!

  • amazing voice

  • her brother was hit so hard - i remember him on the tv commercial selling thier records in the 80's as he was ending his commercial in the split second before the camera turned away you could see him start to tear up - i hope god has helped him though this time up to now - we all still miss her -

  • No one sold more records than the Carpenters during the '70s, amazing.

  • from mexico i remember whe was long

  • Did those eyes pierce anyone's heart as they did mine? I truly miss her.., (don't tell anyone, okay?)

  • I can't put 10000000000 likes :(

  • Some goofy comments. The two tambourine players are probably Doug Strawn and Earle Dumler who played woodwinds and sang backup vocals. The background vocals to the studio recording were mostly done by Richard and Karen overdubbing. This was shown in the PBS Special a few years back. They were in the booth singing 2nd, 3rd and 4th part harmony. The video is lip-synch.

  • Richard and Karen hit #2 in Billboard, 2-26-72. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed week! RIP, Karen.

  • This is Karen at the perfect weight. And one of my favorite hairstyles of hers. Man, she really looks gorgeous here.

  • Karen : I wanna go to heaven to see you for eternity .

  • @Luisveram shes having a good time, look whose up there with her

  • Fantastic song!!

  • You can hear it in her voice, THIS was the acknowledgement of the romanticism that was taboo. They were who they were! The ambiguity lent itself to tragedy. But only because of a relationship too close for society to believe, putting tags and handles to something that was generating better visions of love for us on earth. We are much better off because of the talent of these equal geniuses that was just too beautiful (hideous) for the world to acknowledge. The body of work is the legacy of proof.

  • I would like to put this one out there & roll the Dice for the world to read & see what they think of this idea. I would Love more than anything in the world for Richard Carpenter to get the Carpenter band together (including Herb, & Burt who were a Big part) & do a tribute show for Karen &Tony. Why not one more time, for the good old times. Everyones getting older each & every year, I really believe in my heart that this would be special & Karen could be included on a Big Screen with Pictures

  • @vmuto1 that type of reunion doesn't interest money makers anymore. to bad

  • @vmuto1 There's a girl in Japan who has a video here on Youtube where she sings almost identical to Karen's voice. I be she'd love to team up with the band members. It would sound as close to the real thing as possible...except for pronouncing those pesky R and L sounds.

  • the hair style makes this video worth seeing ....

  • there is a blue light emitting from richard carepnter mouth when he opens it. when the lovely karen opens her mouth there is only beauty. richard carpenter is an agent of lucifer and this is the proof.

  • everyone keeps wanting to blame her family but that's only part of it. pawn yourself to the general public with a faulty foundation and the results can be devestating. if she hadn't of done what she did for a living, she probably wouldn't have ended up dead.

  • If she were alive, Karen Carpenter would say,"Anorexia in all it's forms, is never sexy." I would agree; She was truly an original, and it's sad she died that way. Like the tune, by the way.

  • This is called carrying out a full note while singing as opposed to the hideous style today in which the singer (i.e.Aguilera, EVERYONE on American Idol. etc.) seems to try to cram as many notes and syllables into a single word as is possible. A whole lot of the young generation of pop singers seem to like to sing this way. I think it is really irritating, and I sort of hope it falls out of fashion pretty soon

  • esa musica es parte de mi vida

  • Takes you back, to life in the parent's basement, and their music collection being the one you had access to, Also seems to me the song that defines Karen's disregard of her health, in a pursuit of looking good for the World, when she had no weight issue in terms of being obese

  • Look how hungry Karen looks in this video. You are watching documented abuse by her brother Richard Clemens Carpenter.

  • @pbrick6301 Yes, her brother roped & ham - strung her from a tree & kept her away from all sources of nourishment. "Clemens (?)" was/is an evil bastard. Her decline into eating disorder (without Richard withholding grinders) started in late 1974. This video is from 1972/73. She's quite healthy (and attractive IMO) here!

  • @pbrick6301

    nutjob alert.

  • UNA GRAN CANTANTE ESTA EN EL CIELO.

  • NEVER TIRE OF HEARING THIS..KAREN WAS AMAZING

  • Copyright 1985 ??? I'd guess just from the dress and hairstyes...combined with the "vibe" that this video was filmed a wee bit earlier than that.

  • @alternatehistories renewed copyright, she died in 83!

  • @alternatehistories That's just the copyright. This song was probably on a collection of Carpenter's hits in 1985. Don't quote me. But yes, this video was recorded a long time before that.

  • @ObscurityMiss86 Yeah, the clothes and hair confirm it's early 70's.

  • cool belt

  • What year was this video shot?

  • @finzone71 probably late '71

  • She really did have a beautiful voice

  • Look at the clothes so stylish :) lovely girl with a lovely voice and personality :) that's how Karen should be remembered :)

  • Hearing this song makes me cry! In a good way..

  • VEVO.. what a shit!

  • A terrible thing happened with Karen ; wonderful girl and a true one-off singer

  • Comment removed

  • Karen's voice was heaven-sent and Richard's arrangements were perfection

  • A voice that we have yet to hear again. You'd think their be someone out there do a remake of the Carpenter's Greatest Hits.!

  • @MrMohananiv there is an Asian lady that sounds "exactly identical" to Karen Carpenter and she performed for Richard, just cant remember her name. She sings in perfect english yet does not speak a word of english.

  • @NaNorge Keiko Touge is the lovely Asian lady who's voice is almost exactly like Karen Carpenter.. She sang For Richard and Made him very unusually emotional. he was just about in tears listening to Keiko, very touching!

  • she has an awesome voice. now this is music

  • "A Star on Earth, A Star in Heaven"

    "Heaven on Earth"

  • I love Karen Carpenter! What a great voice she had! I only get chills when I hear just a few artist and Karen is one of them! Awesome!

  • @devernie1, you are right but sometimes the prettiest talented ppl cant believe in themselves. Its so sad about Karen. she was beautiful.

  • VEVo Blows!! i hate commercials

  • best

  • Beautiful woman, beautiful voice. I wish she knew herself how beautiful she was.

  • @pbaylis1: It's incredible how sexy and talented KC was. If only she saw herself as we do.

  • @devernie1 , she isn't sexy at all but her voice is superb !

  • @devernie1 That's sooooo true...

  • VEVO SUCKS!!!!!

  • Be Nice

  • @DannyLovesOregon BUT.....IT DOES!!!!

  • awesome woman

  • Cool! The Carpenters featured not one but TWO tambourine players. Lol!

  • @thegorn68 Haha and you can't even hear a tambourine on this recording XD

  • @thegorn68 The tambourine players were probably their less talented siblings.

  • @thegorn68

They're backup singers for that awesome harmony you hear, they have tambourines as an added bonus...

  • @thegorn68 Excuse me those are two POWER tambourine players! lol

  • Just Breathtaking the way she sings. My favorite Carpenters song

  • one of the first few songs i ever learned to sing. aside from mr. postman and top of the world. :) and i'm just 29. my parents had their LP before.

  • Guess this is the original recording session.

  • i love the carpenters...now i'm 20 but i still adore their songs...i really love it as in....i'm still speechless...one in a million.

  • @enerenaj , i'm also 20 and i got the same feeling :) it only means that Carpenters' music especially Karen's voice can reach even maybe the next generations :)

  • The beginning line of this song sounds very much like Andrea Corr. Love The Carpenters, love this woman, love Richard - could listen to them forever.

  • Karen's voice is phenomenal and angelic! She's the best!
