  • now I remember why all this time I had a fetish for dresses with those sleevelike things

  • @IvanLuver78 Actually if you're going to correct someone you should know what you're talking about lol In the 1982 version of the film, Bernadette* Peters plays the role of Lily St. Regis- Roosters 'dumb hotel' girlfriend NOT Miss Hannigan (played by Carol Burnett) :)

  • Poor Lionel....... Bahahaha

  • The red head step sister I think looks ALOT like Carol Burnett. She played miss Hannigan in Annie 1982 (for those who don't know what she looks like). :)

  • @ILoveCarolBurnett Burnedette Peters play miss Hannigan you dolt and she also plays the step mother in this movie

  • "Do I love you because you're wonderful, or are you wonderful because I love you?" Such a beautiful and true question; the answer of which has no actual bearing on how wonderful the love of your life is to you. <3 <3 <3

  • Well my cousin is Tongan, and he is the only one in his family who is white, besides his mom. :)

  • Who cares about the racial part? We are all human anyway. :)

  • haha i love the stepsisters in this movie :) they make me laugh!

  • When I watched this as a kid I never noticed the racial differences. They're all perfectly casted for their individual characters, and that's what matters :)

  • About what I said, why is it odd that an asian is in a musical? I think who ever has this comment has racial issues.

  • Can we not focus on race and just all agree that this is a fantastic movie!?

  • "Are you wonderful, because I want you ?.", when I was a little kid those words were so hot to me. I'm 22 and they still are.

  • anybody else ever feel like the ugly stepsister? :)

  • i love the whole cast. so hilarious!! so perfectly casted!

  • Wow really? I'm going to be 100% honest. When I was a kid I didn't even NOTICE that there was something odd about the racial casting. I mean, I was aware of their different races, but I honestly never once thought it was weird until I saw it again years later when I was older. Racism is LEARNED!

  • i just don't understand what people don't get. this is what we call BLIND CASTING. the actor are in the roles that they are in because of their talent. color should not be the focus of this movie. who cares that the king and queen are interracial (white& black) and have an Asian son? it's not really a hard concept to grasp... BLIND CASTING geesh.

  • HAHA GOTTA LOVE THE EVIL LAUGH FROM THE AFRO STEP SISTER

  • Great film, but when you've heard Julie Andrews sing this film no one ells can match it

  • they would have had some cute ass kids

  • Everyone is commenting on the skin colors of everyone, they made this movie like this fore that exact reason, that people don't need to be all white to be a fairy tale. shut up and watch the movie.

  • @roflitsdani IKR thats what i feel like ppl be-little ppl because they are diffrent its wrong to do that and this movie says that... but..... um... there is one thing i don't get....

how can is mom be black his dad be whit and him be asian?

  • I don't consider these step-sisters "Ugly". The girl in the pink dress is actually pretty, I love the pink dress.

  • I grew up with the 1965 version (with Lesley Ann Warren in the title role), but had never seen this 1997 remake before. Well done -- even with the implausible multiethnic casting within both Cinderella's stepfamily and the royal family!

  • @DOSBoxMom well, I tink I can explain the step sisters. they are her step sisters because they are sisters on through marriages. As fro the daughters of the step mothers they could be half sister. lets say her first husband died and back then it was necessary for a woman to remarry and perhaps the next husband was of a different race and had a child then they would be half siblings. worked better in my head, well its fiction so they could do whatever they want.

  • @DOSBoxMom i know what you mean even though im still a kid i have seen the 1965 one and i like the songs this movie takes those songs and changes them up a-little to make them better they did a wonderful job and out of all the versions i have seen i like this one the best :) i wonder what they made the shoe out of..... maybe ..... plexie glass?

  • the prince's mother has that funny squeky sound when she doesn't know what to say.

  • I would be melting if I got to dance with the king ^_^

  • i always dreamed it would happen like this... and now it real has... *video ends*

me: 0_o NOOOO!!!! *searches for next bit frantically*

  • "Do I love you because you're beautiful, or are you beautiful because I love you?" I don't normally like sappy stuff, but...<3

  • Do i love u becuz ur beautiful?

Or r u beautiful bcuz i love u?- to MINDLESS BEHAVIOR, mainly PRODIGY aka CRAIG JOHNSON! :) I LUV HIM

  • said "as a bird" very country.......-at 3:19 if u r country no offense

  • @TigerkiakiaLOL: OMG, I have seen this movie a million times and I never caught that. I laughed so hard I had tears. I had to call my husband--who's never seen it--to watch, and he laughed as well. LOL!!!!

  • @correllebelle lol :)

  • haha i lol'd at 6:05 her face! "no you don't"

  • I can't help but saying this, but when he says (or sings) "Do I love you because you're beautiful, or are you beautiful because I love you?" I couldn't help but think of the line in Mean Girls when that one chick says "I don't hate you because you're fat, you're fat because I hate you." XD

  • Love those squeeks coming from Whoopi XD haha

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! Every time I watch this part, I always wonder:

    1. Why did Calliope pull herself & Minerva backwards into the fountain?

    2. How can Lionel collapse on the dance floor like that?

Other times, I'd be think of the following:

    1. The Prince strongly proved that he didn't want no one to make Cinderella leave by refusing to let his parents intervene.

    2. The King & Queen DEFINITELY have no sympathy for Lionel. LOL!!

  • That word is the most sweet word i ever heard.. nowadays, its hard to hear that word in most of the romantic film...

and asian guy are handsome. ^-^

  • i love the ballroom dance!

  • @ToRchWoOdLuV1

i hope i can dance like that. but reality is i cant dance..

  • Stepsister's Lament is the best song in the movie. Period.

  • I wish I had Cinderella's dress for prom...

  • I love the prince's smile when he said, "That bad huh?" ooohhhhh , he is fine !

  • I love the racial diversity in this movie . hmmmm , back when Disney was meaningful , lol :)

  • i was 12 when this came out and back then for me, anything was possible. somewhere along the lines of life i forgot what it was like to have a dream so big that all you could do was eat, sleep and breath it. Watching this is bringing back possibilities for me.

  • @jacksonking10 if i could like this as many times as i wanted i would.

  • @SuperWolfmike

yes... i also do want it. huhu

  • "who is that?"

    "lionel darling"

    "oh" *walks away* loool XD

  • she solid alright lmaao

  • how does a white dad and a black mom pop out an asian son?

  • @danielamyra3 An asian stable hand XD

  • cannot believe this was 14 years ago. i feel super old right now.

  • @fcagurl7 It was only 14 years ago? Wow, then I feel REALLY old. :)

  • LOL 5:11 UUUGH!!! So funny!

  • 3:45 hilarious... face the step sister makes with the laugh.

  • It kind of reminds me of a West Side Story that actually ends well... :)

  • @Nilluphael Why's that? O-o

  • 10: 05 Old time's version of axe: hand, hand, face (no cologne required)....... that or the chopping block

  • I never questioned the different races in this movie when I was young. Now that I'm older, I think its really awesome haha! I love this movie.

  • Love this cute little fun movie

    awesomee! <3 :D

  • 2:25 = Best song EVER!

  • @KaterinaJade never heard of adoption? :)

  • ha its so funny to see that when people saw it they thought hey their all different races, my family is very mixed so when i saw this when i was young i never questioned it it seemed normal!!!!!!!!.lol.

  • This still happens in modern day. Sparkly costumes and getting married after a few hours of just knowing each other goes by Las Vegas now.

  • When I was little I saw the King Queen and Prince and was like: *tilts head to the side* *Thinking why their different colors* "I know! The prince is that color because his parents skin color mixed together!"

How I miss the naive days when everything illogical was logical to us small minds.

  • I Like How Race Was Really Not A Factor In This Movie. Asian Prince with Black Mom and White[I believe] Dad ..Cinderella had a Black Step Sister Who's Mom Is White.

  • @MR2PHATCH33KS Yeah, I have a sister who says that EVERY TIME we watch this! I just wanna say, "It's a movie! Stop thinking about it and enjoy it!!" XD

  • @MR2PHATCH33KS I won't be surprised if Cinderella & the Prince end up having a hispanic son.

  • @MR2PHATCH33KS ya i mean who cares what race you are? we are all people here ^_^.

  • King, Queen, young adopted son David...

  • ^_____^ Ahhhh~ lol ♥ They're so sweet.

  • Prince is adopted :D

  • Really rite there u had to end it ughh nxt vid now

  • One thing that was always odd to me:

Black mom + White dad = Asian son???

  • @KaterinaJade

its not possible.. if they do hv an asian member in their family. like their granpa is asian.. haha

  • @KaterinaJade I works out if you divide up the Dad's hair texture and skin color, the only trade off from the mother is the black for the hair. lol

  • @KaterinaJade exactly it never hit me when i was younger but now it's totally confusing

  • @obsessionchik4 ..it confuses you because unlike when you were younger you don't have any biases...you watched and enjoyed this production based on the story, the music, the acting...without over analyzing the race of the characters In summary the aim of this particular Cinderella is for everyone to see this through the eyes of children..innocent, pure, simple minded, unbiased..far from an adult's critical point of view.

  • @KaterinaJade Lol, I love this movie but that is some kind of gene pool!

  • @KaterinaJade

that's rude. Any asians can star in a musical or action movie.
