The man in motion is not the key to this play. It is the fake pitch to the lone running back, which draws the middle linebacker out of the middle. The other key to this play is the right defensive end, who has responsibility to cover the tight end in case he goes downfield for a pass. The d-end properly starts to cover the tight end as he goes downfield, but then inexplicably lets his man loose to catch the ball. Better play by the d-end would have resulted in an easy interception!
