  • @USgovernmentLies Amen. Preach on.

  • Greatest Blues Song ever!

  • @USgovernmentLies Who cares just as long as you enjoy it.

  • awesome how you can hear this depression/prohibition era in his voice n lyrics thank you for posting this shit up!

  • supernatural is awesome. it plays nothing but great classic music. gotta respect that.

  • @nessa777ism actually once when Dean came back from hell Sam was playing Pop music and Dean got pissed. But other than that all classic music.

  • @diablo9333 yeah in season 4 episode 1.....kinda forgot.

  • Thanks

    abeldanger(dot)net

  • @cosmiccubes969 obviously you have shitty taste in t.v. show.. let me guess, a fan of real housewives? lol

  • supernatural is the best tv show about ghosts, demons, devil, angels ever made

  • Poor whitebeard

  • I love supernatural, but I found Robert Johnson because he was the basis for the guitar player Tommy in Oh, Brother Where Art Thou, and I think I may have read a little about his music in an occult book when I was younger.

  • @AryanBarbarian777 tommy was based on tommy johnson

  • @AryanBarbarian777 Actually, there was a blues musician named Tommy Johnson BEFORE Robert came along. Tommy also used to claim he sold his soul to the devil in return for his prowess on guitar. It is this real character that the black musician in Oh Brother Where Art Thou is based on. His music is on YouTube. Look it up.

  • i'm listening to this because i have a hellhound on my trail

  • The struggling in his voice is a reminder for everyone, inspiring artists and waking up hypocrits with the bitterness of truth!

  • A TRUE M-A-S-T-E-R-P-I-E-C-E ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • I see nothing bad in new generations getting introduced to the real music through TV shows/Games and etc etc. How else can they find it? Why others rage so much about it? If new generations suck so much that means previous weren't doing well, eh?

  • He posesses my soul!

  • just shut up

  • fuck supernatural, here you have the godfather of modern music, no one cares about these stupid meaningless tv series. Is this the only way for you to find some real music?

  • @0live0wire0 How is that a bad thing tho?, imo it's good that those series show cool old music wich sometimes is ignored by the new generations, just cause noone shows it to them, dont see anything wrong with that. And as the guy below said, people come here just cause this music is amazing and touched their hearts, who cares who brought you here, or how, what matters is that you like this music (:

  • @Atmospherewins hah exactly thank you for clearing out

  • @0live0wire0 shut the hell up cry baby

  • did anyone watch this cuz of Fallen? (:

  • WOW did anyone catch his age when he died.... 27 .... he's jamming with club 27 in hell ........ Maybe theres something to musicians selling their souls after all ...... about 15 -20 of them where all 27 when they died

  • @MrRedneckcracker Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Kurt Cobain, all some of the greatest musicians of their time, they all changed the game, they all died at 27.

  • Like this if fuck off.

  • thumbs up if depression brought you here

  • like if Fallen brought you here

  • Personally I loved the episode about johnson. I knew him before, but it was nice to see him , you know, in the mass media. At least Supernatural has very nice music. And what's wrong about Johnson being in Supernatural?I just got the feeling that I need some blues. Starting from here :) cheers.

  • @SwampDevilGr my thoughts exactly though even in the show i think they only mentioned his name once so jeez people need to enjoy the music and apreciate that the show exposed some people in one way or another to robert johnson

  • what the fuck is supernatural?

  • @sk878787 the greatest show ever hahaha.. about 2 brother demon hunters

  • How about those of us who listened to this music before supernatural but revisited after seeing that episode?

It was a good one, too.

  • @USgovernmentLies Hell yes! Real people know real music!

  • thankyou Saldana! best History of Rock class ever :D

  • Elitist prick I'm guessing? Or just as old as fucking dirt, in which case good on you learning how to actually use a PC. And I seriously doubt your interest in the internet is anymore noble than television. But then again, according to your screen name you probably prefer to sit at home petting yourself to the sound of Glenn Beck's voice.

  • oh yea. going to greenwood for my sisters engagement party tomorrow going to visit one of his graves

  • @USgovernmentLies It is a good show though, don't be a prick.

  • @RocktheDragon65 it might be his voice

  • how could someone not LOVE this!!! im 13 this year (2011) and i would die if this music wasnt being made! because unlike todays 'music', blues, especially delta blues, was a way of expressing yourself and letting go nno matter what ANYONE thhought and if you screwed up it was considered art! so,

You may bury my body, down by the highway side so my old evil spirit can catch a Greyhound bus and ride.. and i dont care how you got here, from a tv show, from the movie, it doesnt matter!

    JUST LISTEN

  • @CaseyBaby413 you are 13 and talk more sense than the vast majority of adults......good work

  • @Abigmandis thanks :)

  • @CaseyBaby413 Yeah, cause music that is made nowadays... really isn't expressing anything... right. I know a shitload of music good music with intelligent lyrics, you just don't know where to look.

  • @USgovernmentLies Who cares if kids found out about Robert Johnson from a TV show - I found him because of a movie with Ralph Macchio in it. Don't matter how you get here, matters that you stayed to listen.

  • The first, the beginning of a true Bluesman. Long live the memory of Robert Johnson.

  • its a shame we dnt know much about him at least we have his recordings

  • never been much of a blues fan but robert johnson is great. he's the best bluesman there is no doubt.

  • Fabulous! You can't beat Robert Johnson! Thanks for uploading this.

  • Elvis and Robert johnson both died on Aug 16 -payment in full to the devil ! = )

  • There's some dispute about his grave site, and some semi-persuasive arguments that the place where the monument shown at 1:05 isn't the place. But I can tell you that the first time I went there, a calm sunny day suddenly turned real dark and windy, and a big green snake came up from the ground right in front of me in the brambles (this was before the marker went up). That's the truth, for whatever it's worth. Check my channel for some good raw blues, btw...I think you'll like it.

  • o my god. in this song more pain than in hell.

  • I can't stop listening to this!!!

  • I found this video because of Supernatural! XD

  • I have all kinds of music styles saved in my favorites and there isn't one video where you don't have people BITCHING about something, fuck your typo, fuck your grammar , fuck your opinion, fuck my opinion ....let's enjoy the damn music

  • @ZombifiedPreacher1

    THANK YOU!!!!

  • @ZombifiedPreacher1 fuck tha police

  • Who the hell cares about grammar? We're here to listen to music and not to argue. So get over yourselves and listen to the music. Fuck if it bothers you THAT much then don't even look at the comments.

  • Good Times ... Yes Sir !

  • robert johnson the king of blues and ever will. long live robert johnson

  • Robert Johnson is amazing. he inspired our music. if you're a delta blues fan, check out our band Rat Stomp :)

    youtube.com/user/ratstompmusic

  • Out of all the guitar patterns he ever played, this one is my favorite, especially the intro. I use this intro when I'm playing Crossroad Blues, instead of the original intro.

  • If you dont like this then get off this link. Only certain type of people welcome here

  • He couldnt have sold his soul to the devil you can easily hear hes putting all his soul into this wonderful music.

  • Like this if you listened to this song after watching Supernatural

  • @Justicereyna0897 Don't bring something that's so full of shit to such a decent page on youtube.

Keep your shitty lifestyle to yourself.

  • @borris93 wow man whooa, time to listen to more music for you man, you gotta just chill bruh, like i dont even know what supernatural is but who cares man, everyones here for one reason and one reason only man, they heard the music somewhere or heard it way before it was on somewhere and liked it alot, matter o fact they thought it was damn catchy, so you know what?, thats why they came here, this isnt about someones choice in movies or tv shows, this video defines your choice of good music.

  • @96TGOD69 I only listen to this cause my teacher makes me do it in homework >.<

  • @pongrotte9 .. then your teachers is teaching way better than mine sun.

  • @Justicereyna0897 lol whats supernatural?

  • @TrollMaster5

    A shitty overrated tv-show

  • @CosmicCubes969 blasphemous!!!!

  • blues man fo sho your still helping people rob.

  • This is my fav from Robert Johnson, the greatest, unlikely to ever be surpassed, blues guitar player of all times. That fuckin song tears my heart apart.

  • In the first pic, can you see the evil face thing in the top right corner?

  • the saddest intro ever played.

  • repose en paix et merci de nous avoir donné ce blues, Robert.

  • RJ music and soul is a given.....now for the markers, the Payne chapel marker is BS and Mt Zion and Little Zion are the ones that are truly debatable. Recent evidence points to Little Zion as a good portion believe he is there. That is based of off historians Steve Lavere's encounter with local Rose Eskridge who's husband was paid to dig the grave at Little Zion for what she said was for a "traveling musician" in the late 30s.

  • que magia..!! no de el tenia...jaja

  • what a wonderful song is a song made by a man who knew that he would die

  • This song is so eerie, the sound of near terror and utter sorry in his voice when he says "I got to keep moving" invokes a intense amount of wonder as to what this mans problem is, and what he is running from. and When the line "hell hound on my trail" comes up the first time it just gives a sense of dread. Truly Amazing.

  • huere siech isch das geil x)

  • maybe this is not so sad who knows??? nobody

  • he is burning in the hell. Damnit this is sad!

  • Comment removed

  • @xdzitow3455....What's sad is that you actually believe that there is a place where God sends people to burn forever for not worshiping him. But he loves you? If that is the way God operates then he has some serious ego issues.

  • robert johnson is awsome the best blues player that ever lived !!!

  • this is actually true. when you sell your soul to the devil, at night, sleeping alone, you'll hear and feel the hellhounds on your bed barking at you. you can pray and beg for forgiveness and eventually they'll go away, but not after a hard road of boom and bust.

  • Awesome

  • the music good bu t people do crazy htings to have fame and it happens now

  • His 100 anniversary of his birthday today!!

  • @Albertanator actually its 103th ;p and it was 8th day ;>

  • Actually it was Lonnie Johnson who was said to have sold his sole to the devil. While there is no family relation between the two he still had a big influence over Robert and what he did in music. A lot of people associated Robert with this so he took advantage and wrote songs about the Devil like Crossroads and Hellhound but confessed before he died that he felt regret for making money off such a rumor. Lonnie can be seen on the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou".

  • @a850752 RJ barely made a penny off his music and certainly made next to nothing off his recordings. He was basically unknown until the early 60's when the pioneers of Rock started listening to him.

  • I wonder if when they say they sold themself to the devil, they mean giving their souls away to big coorpiorations for fame and money.

  • back in the days music had meaning... and people would talk about real stuff.. and im sure this man sold his soul.. But damm he sure is a Legend and i love his music..

Never though i would end up liking blues.. but i saw that supernatural episode and it changed my life.. now i love this music lmao

  • man its like he really did sell his soul to the devil! all his songs are about deamons devils and hell if i knew any better i would say that he was a satanistic person but his music is cool!

  • The true grandfather of blues and rock and roll. God rest his soul, such a difficult life in this world.

  • Robert Johnson u r so beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • justttt bluesss

    the best lues

  • @KurdtKobain09 I heard you like Leadbelly.

  • "All Comments (666)"... a sign? maybe.. tho now its 667

  • Happy birthday Robert, cheers top of the morning to you. Enjoy all the booze & women down there.

  • @roboboxA

i dont know if your joking but your not your a fuck idiot :P

  • @roboboxA your the worst type of troll

  • Hope he's resting in peace.

  • shit!!!! is his soul singing!!!! is my soul speaking with him...

And I'm form Argentina, nobody can say that souls, spirits, have frontiers too.

  • Pure genius

  • how the hell does this only have 240k views? really?

  • what amazing voice!

  • Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dimebag Darrell, John 5, and Zakk Wylde.

THE GREATEST GUITARISTS OF ALL TIME!!!!!!

  • @VonHendrixTV

...It's your list, and you can keep it...but truly...the only two guitarists you had that were even good are Dimebag and Robert....

  • @DelMarrrrr Dimebag was nothing compared to SRV, or Hendrix, or Clapton, there's a lot of better guitarists than Dimebag.

  • @98RamMagnum

listen to floods by pantera and that all the proof you need to see how epic a guitarist dimebag was!!!!

  • @annefrankisaho IDIOT!

  • @annefrankisaho As opposed to what? Go back and listen to your Britney Spears records.. or why not sing along to Rebecka Black? Seems to be right up you alley..

  • @annefrankisaho wow are you an idiot...that's so assinine a statement and so unbelievably wrong i won't even bother to correct you

  • @98RamMagnum 98 u must be old or just hate metal...SRV Hendrix and Clapton are all blues-based and Hendrix was the only innovator...Dimebag's playing sound, style and technique has nothing at all to do with the three you mentioned...and, truth be told, he was a much better player technically than all 3...still the comparison is silly and you probably don't understand Pantera anyway

  • @sixsixxsixxxx I'm not old, nor do I hate metal, metal's roots are IN blues, I'm sorry that you don't know that, Dimebag was a good guitarist, but as I said, there are better. Also, Dimebag's inspirations were in fact, inspired by the guitarists I stated, I understand Pantera quite well, it seems you don't understand the basics of metal, and therefore, put shame upon even having your name relate to metal in any way, shape, and/or form.

  • @sixsixxsixxxx Hendrix was the first popular guitarist to play a style that has predated him by many years. All he did was combine Wes Montgomery with Buddy Guy. Just like SRV combined Hendrix and Clapton with Albert King. Dimebag is decent but I could go through my itunes and list 25 better guitarists easily

  • I suspect the late Mr. Johnson's Marfan Syndrome caused him much grief in terms of health and even his self-esteem (not to mention teasing). My speculation..

Been a fan of Johnson's music since my undergrad days at LSU (Early 80s). The British blues congnoscenti ('Stones, et al) maintain that Johnson's recordings are the virtual "sqaure root" of Rock & Roll.

  • Comment removed

  • I usally like the number 13 becase of the dark vive to it, but I don't like the 13 people who dislike.

  • I'm going to cover this song when I get the chance........ I may be hard rock, but I grew up on Robert Johnson, and sevrial Blues Icons.....May he Rest In Peace.

  • @LueyLuvaexthe13th haha funny i know a few other people who think they're cool because they're into hard rock

  • This video and this song is pretty spooky, specially at 3 am

  • I find it funny how many people actually believe that he sold his soul to the Devil. Robert Johnson came into fame during a time that us white folk were both afraid of and mystified by black people - he took that and ran with it, creating a mythos surrounding his skill.

He disappeared for six months. If he spent most of that time practicing and focusing on his technique and song writing he could have easily acquired the necessary skill.

  • wow.

  • his music wasn't fucking deep you idiots. and he had no soul, the devil had it.

he was just fueled by him...

  • he was great.. too bad he's in hell now.. well.. nothing good comes out when you make a deal with the devil..

  • Comment removed

  • Hey hey hey .. leave MJ alone. If Robert Johnson was around he'd absolutely hate comparing AND degrading ..

    let's have some peace xx

  • the supernatural episode - crossroad blues is very good

  • @jopeon Oh heck yeah it was

  • @jopeon is this the song that the guy was playing on stage in the beginning of the episode?

if not plz let me know wat it is, i cant seem to find it

  • @jopeon, I was singing along whenever they started playing Robert Johnston. I actually new that he had lots of paranormal such and such in his songs in his music before that episode, and it made me feel all sparticle and what-not. x-] That show SERIOUSLY plays the best music.

  • @jopeon thats why i searched this song lol

  • @jopeon Brilliant show

  • @jopeon yeah i lknow =)

  • @jopeon i'm watching that right now!!! XD

  • @jopeon So good :)

  • there's a rumour that robert phoned for help just before he died, panic and fear in his voice and when they found his body, he had the most terrible look on his face. anyway that's what i've heard and yes i do believe the legend but that does not mean those 9 years of success were wasted i mean he produced some of the greatest music ever and you could say he got what he asked for - by becoming the greatest delta blues singer ever to this day

  • @jopeon phones were prreeeettty rare at that time..

  • Jevezy, look man u must be riding his cock to defend him so much. Look its just a legend let everyone believe what they want to believe even if u know ur right. Anyway im still breathing and the earth is still spinin so im good

  • Does anyone else see the creepy face on the wall at the end of the guitar neck in the first pic?

  • Shit if the legend could possibly true I'll go to hell :D thats where all the good music is gonna be jajajajaja

  • Crossroad Blues!!!

  • I love reading people argue on the internet, it's frickin' hilarious.

  • All pop stars should be exocuted of the face of the earth. Michael jackson died, 1 down, a million more to go.

  • @KurdtKobain09

cmon now... he made some good stuff. but nothing like this... not nearly as deep

  • @GreasyBurrito pop stars are al different. Pop stars like - shakira, beyonce, rihanna, usher etc should be BURNED ALIVE. Eminem used to be soulful but now has fucking become like all the others HE SHOULD BURN IN HELL.

  • @KurdtKobain09 I think telling them to burn in hell is uncalled for, yer their music is bad, but don't ever tell me you think a human life is expendable due to the fact you dont like the music the create.

  • @MrOmNomNom99 Are you re retarded? You sound like the special kid in school. SHUT THE HELL UP, YOU FUCKING RETARD! And, what the Fuck is "yer", ... you are a retard, kill yourself and ride us of you.

  • @willkc8088 You sure make a lot of grammar and spelling errors to be calling someone retarded...

  • @ipodcrazy523 Aside from the "re" typo and "ride" typo. Define a grammatical error? Are you referring to sentence structure, style, syntax, lay it on me. It may be rough, but not grammatically incorrect.

  • @willkc8088 1) Incorrect capitalization of "Fuck" 2) Incorrect comma usage in "you are a retard, kill yourself..."

A grammatical error is anything that violates the proper use of the English language. That includes spelling, which is an integral part of grammar.

  • @ipodcrazy523 Wrong, on "2" the sentence is a complex sentence thus having two independant clauses. I could have used a comma or semi colon or nothing at all. Go back to Eng.101. And the misspelling were "typo's" but I will give you that one as attention to detail should have had me notice such glaring errors. As for "Fuck" being capitilized it follows emphasis and content, thus allowing the capitization. Try again, this is fun.

  • @willkc8088 Will you find the error in the above?

  • @willkc8088 You say, "typo's"; I say, "That's another error, sport." As for 2), a complex sentence is an independent clause followed by a dependent clause. Your sentence was 2 independent clauses, which is called a 'run on sentence'. You're right; this Is fun!

  • @ipodcrazy523 I love the fact you have some knowledge of compisition, but, we are in the world of the writen word as the spoken word. And, as for the "complex", I thought you would get the error. It is actually a compound sentence(ass) using the form of written. you are fun(sic). And in fact, a complex sentence is an independent clause followed by one or MORE dependent clauses. But, again, your inexperience in higher ed. is evident,,,,Sport. Try reading some HEMINGWAY.

  • @willkc8088 it would be rid not ride =X

  • @KurdtKobain09

    little to far bud.

  • man i love the blues. when it hits you, you feel no pain ....

  • Nice videos, great pics. I have a 3rd photo of Robert Johnson, not the E-bay one on YT, but one allegedly of with Johnny Shines (his road-buddy throughout 1937, as you might know), very good quality, published first in Vanity Fair, 2007, & unearthed by a son, Claud Johnson. I can send it to you attached to an email if you like (I need an email address outside of YT of course), you can use it for an updated version of this video (there's also a 4th photo apparently!). Thanks for the post

  • the distance of desolated crop lands resound in this six strings and this stolid voice. such a magic and a mistery

when you got a feeling and you're true

  • Children of Bodom

  • guess well never kno who knos that was his deal

  • great man you should look and see the back ground if you like good stories.
