what is the source of this? none of cd/dvd/video tape was invented at that time. i really wonder how they fixed the match? an 8mm film camera? we have never senn this in tv in my country.
This is the first full match that I have seen of either of these two men. Judging from this match, The Destroyer was awesome. Rikidozan, at least from a psychology standpoint, seems like a Japanese version of Pedro Morales. Although, as I say, I have only watched this one match of theirs and will learn more of them along with the more matches of theirs that I watch.
I will use his preferred, full character name - "The Sensational, Intelligent Destroyer", aka Dick Beyer (who also worked in AWA as "Dr. X"). Destroyer later became such a big celebrity in Japan that he regularly appeared on mainstream Japanese TV variety shows (always in character and in his mask), and apparently even had his own show over there. Rkikdozan is rightly considered the father of Japanese pro wrestling (Puroresu). Two true legends here.
Destroyer is a legend. I didn't like really old-school stuff before I saw him vs Giant Baba, and then this. His heel mannerisms are just amazing, hahaha
