  • Nice !

  • Salt Life

  • look up "black grouper on polespear"

  • this song ROCKS

  • man how can u hold your breath so long and still be calm and thinking of what your doing

  • @jman21121 .... he only held it for a minute its not that hard lol just gotta have some discipline....

  • @supnum1g well the only way i can hold my breath a little longer is if im just looking under the water not consintrating on something :P

  • What cand of wetsuit u used i can't find nowhere something like you have in this video it looks cool ^^

  • I wonder haw black grouper taste

Does it have a distinctive taste?

  • Well done guys!!!

  • worst mistake you can do is not to rest on the bottom when hunting underwater...

rest at the bmottom and scope it out before moving again..

  • would you assholes relax with the tanks vs apnea shit? keep bitchin back and forth and none of us will be aloud to spear anymore. united we fish divided we golf

  • @spearo92 agreed. right now we're the commerical and recreational fisherman off the SC coast are getting screwed with no grouper, snapper or vermillion snapper. all because of some old, crappy data.

  • @snookaholic95 yup im in NC. near VA and i havent even wasted my time goin to morehead or wilmington cuz i know i cant shoot any grouper or snapper...so im goin for tuna soon and around may i'll be smashin cobia

  • @spearo92 nice, big cobia all off the coast around here.

  • @snookaholic95 already? damn when you think they'll hit morehead and wilmington? gotta buddy i met thru a friend...randomly we both dive and hit it off but he lives in carteret county and has some wrecks in 60ft o' water and im meetin up with ren chapman in wilmington for grouper in may...bout to build a 57in midhandle. dad went cheap so we ordered a riffe kit for trigger mech stuff. i just gotta get bands, shaft and my buddy's dad owns a carpentry shop so we're set haha

  • @spearo92 big cobes and kings will hit the reefs soon all of the southeast coast, but ive seen big ones hangin around sea buoys and coming up off different live bottom. When the weather warms, look for reefs with dips and contoured bottoms. The big cobia will be patrolling the bottom, and i predict they'll be up there in the next few weeks. and you bulid spear guns? thats sick.

  • @snookaholic95 its my first build but im sure i'll be building a small gun for the shitty north east NC vis and a bluewater gun for the big boys soon. thanks for the info. my buddy fishes cobia tournaments in morehead and we're thinkin about pickin out which on ewe want to "bite" and claiming it was a butchered gaff job haha. I'll be sure to hit buoys and towers and maybe some ledges. im goin to a clinic soon and ren promised id be able to see 15lb hogfish while freediving in wilmington

  • @spearo92 15 lb hogfish? holy crap i might be up to visit soon.

  • @snookaholic95 yeah and you know thats deep here haha

  • Freediving is harder!

  • free diving is harder because you have to hold your breath! totally true. However, you cannot deny that fish are far less nervous around you when you free dive? I have seen many large grouper retreat into wrecks when they hear those noisy bubbles. I most often free dive when spear fishing because I am more successful. My arguement is that diving with scuba while spear fishing only offers the advantage of being able to breath. I have been responding to those who want to ban scuba spearing.

  • Hell yeah ive seen y'all out

  • to all who say tanks are for pussies, well, i say that you" re just wrong! My arguement is that breathing off scuba makes a large noise that alerts fish to your approach! free diving or diving on rebreathers is easier! you can sneak up on your prey easier and thus making the kill easier! so, who which is harder?

  • fish are curious btw if you never noticed lol scuba doesnt affect them.. it might even tempt them to check you out even more.. So I'd put breath holding at a lil more demanding

  • been diving for 30 years with scuba, hard hat and breath hold. fact is that bubbles scare away more prey than attract them. If you believe that is not true, ask yourself why so many divers that photo and video have switched to rebreathers? easier to sneak up on intended species, and elimination of noise! Bubbles make large fish nervous unless they have been conditioned by divers feeding them.

  • in australia tanks are illegal for spearing, i take it that this isnt the case in the states?

  • @Dancarman1234 not in the states but in the Bahamas it is which is where the majority of saltwater spearfishing takes place.. at least on the east coast area

  • @Stebraul since when did most east coast salt water spearing occur in bahamas?

  • Yeah.. some people commercial fish in the US by spearing.

  • Wow...is that Black 24 inches?? Just kidding I would've shot it. Nice teamwork.

  • nice kill, good team work. but to be honest you got yourself a little black there, I can tell this wasn't in the winter (best time to catch them) or it would have been twice that size

  • get a fuckin' tank
