  • @AsianY0uTubeGuy No, it's because most southern Chinese languages are similar and follows much closer to the REAL Chinese from ancient China. Most poems would rhyme in Southern Chinese languages better than Mandarin would. Most languages around China(Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese etc.) all bears more resemblance to southern Chinese languages too even though they borrowed words from China thousands of years ago. Sad to see Mandarin take over even though it's Manchu-made.

  • hakka from london. we need to keep are languge on the map.

  • I am also Hakka from East Malaysia somewhere around Kuala Lumpur. And it is a pleasure to know that Hakka is spoken all around the world. What attracted me was that what this Hakka guy speak is identical to what me and my family speaks. Thanks Bro for posting this.

  • @lynsexy24 Actually, I'm 1/4 hakka myself, I've never heard anyone speak hakka in my entire life (accept for hakka themselves). When foreigners talk about chinese language they only know mandarin or cantonese, that's because china speaks mandarin and H.K speaks cantonese. And because of their movies, their languages are exposed with international fame. But Hakka and other varieties of chinese doesn't have an own independent entertainment movie language or pop culture of their own.

  • @lynsexy24 thanks brother

  • I am a Hakka from Sabah and keep up with the good work to maintain our hakka dialect and culture. Despite you being half hakka, what you are doing does the hakka people proud. Sad to say the hakka people in kota kinabalu of Sabah choose to speak mandarin only and happy for their own dialect to go extinct. This I feel is very sad and I am very touched by people like you who wants to preserve the hakka dialect.

  • @tsschin1

i really want to learn hakka,

    ngai sarawak loy yeh

  • I don't understand what you're saying because I only understand mandarin and cantonese, but please please please don't let people forget their cultural and linguistic origins. yeayuh!

Can you post a basic greetings in hakka video?

    Thumbs up

  • Does he speak in moiyen dialect? My Hakka is different but I can understand most of it. I read somewhere that moiyen Hakka is the standard dialect. I couldn't watch the entire video due to bad connection. He probably said what dialect his Hakka is

  • wow. I can understand almost all of your hakka (except for the names of various places you mentioned)! i am first generation in USA and don't meet many (very few, like two or three families at most) people who speak hakka or if they speak hakka, i can only understand about 40% of what they are saying. Their hakka is slightly different. after listening to you speak, i feel reacquainted with my language and hope to listen to more hakka so i don't forget. thanks for your video.

  • sabah hakka also same..

  • lol...If you guys wanna learn perfect hakka,u can come to Singkawang City ,West Borneo ,Indonesia.I am from there,8/10 of the population speaks HAKKA as their first language.
