im canto, and i got a bit of what you're saying. heard something about taiwan? and something about hakka being different from fokkien? and also something about malaysia? XD just curious, but what were you talking about?
dungsan, I know the Taiwanese Hakka has a different accent than other Hakka dialects. But do you think the Taiwanese Hakka dialect has mixed some Taiwanese Min Nan words?
I'm hakka from Chile, South America. I understood everything, I was born in Chile but Im a fluent speaker because my parents speak to me in hakka every day. My family is from Guangzhou.
@AsianY0uTubeGuy No, it's because most southern Chinese languages are similar and follows much closer to the REAL Chinese from ancient China. Most poems would rhyme in Southern Chinese languages better than Mandarin would. Most languages around China(Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese etc.) all bears more resemblance to southern Chinese languages too even though they borrowed words from China thousands of years ago. Sad to see Mandarin take over even though it's Manchu-made.
@AznGurl747 where u from what kind of hakka u speak ? i understand most hakka including taiwan hakka except for singkawang hakka, i have problems with it because the singkawang hakka is mixed with alot of indonesian words.

my parents are from guangdong and I listen taiwan hakka online and it!s dificult to find a guangdong hakka tv or guangdong hakka radio station online.
I am also Hakka from East Malaysia somewhere around Kuala Lumpur. And it is a pleasure to know that Hakka is spoken all around the world. What attracted me was that what this Hakka guy speak is identical to what me and my family speaks. Thanks Bro for posting this.
@lynsexy24 Actually, I'm 1/4 hakka myself, I've never heard anyone speak hakka in my entire life (accept for hakka themselves). When foreigners talk about chinese language they only know mandarin or cantonese, that's because china speaks mandarin and H.K speaks cantonese. And because of their movies, their languages are exposed with international fame. But Hakka and other varieties of chinese doesn't have an own independent entertainment movie language or pop culture of their own.
Very Interesting. I also understand his Hakka 100%. I born in Hong Kong. My parent hometown is 100 km away from his father hometown. In fact, I can confirm that his Hakka is identical to those in Hong Kong, China ShenZhen City and around those area. Great to bring people together by youtube.
we are hakka in Australia - 3rd generation since migrating from Southern China via Malaysia. This guy's accent is exactly like ours - even the slang he uses is the same.
Ah, nostalgia...it's difficult to find Hakka people in Japan so I like to watch videos on youtube every so often. I don't think I've spoken it for nearly a year now.
hakka has been past down in my family in 4 different countries and generations and it still has the same accent as this guy, 100% understood him. too bad im starting to forget some of it :(
I am a Hakka from Sabah and keep up with the good work to maintain our hakka dialect and culture. Despite you being half hakka, what you are doing does the hakka people proud. Sad to say the hakka people in kota kinabalu of Sabah choose to speak mandarin only and happy for their own dialect to go extinct. This I feel is very sad and I am very touched by people like you who wants to preserve the hakka dialect.
I don't understand what you're saying because I only understand mandarin and cantonese, but please please please don't let people forget their cultural and linguistic origins. yeayuh!
Does he speak in moiyen dialect? My Hakka is different but I can understand most of it. I read somewhere that moiyen Hakka is the standard dialect. I couldn't watch the entire video due to bad connection. He probably said what dialect his Hakka is
wow. I can understand almost all of your hakka (except for the names of various places you mentioned)! i am first generation in USA and don't meet many (very few, like two or three families at most) people who speak hakka or if they speak hakka, i can only understand about 40% of what they are saying. Their hakka is slightly different. after listening to you speak, i feel reacquainted with my language and hope to listen to more hakka so i don't forget. thanks for your video.
lol...If you guys wanna learn perfect hakka,u can come to Singkawang City ,West Borneo ,Indonesia.I am from there,8/10 of the population speaks HAKKA as their first language.
hakka is spoken so differently in many regions, its good to know people still speak the same hakka as I do. I understood about 90% of it only because im born in America. But my family still speaks it to each other. Great Video!
My goodness , this hakka is exactly the same as mine , how nice , thanks Dungsan for posting it . I´m from Brazil , 3rd generation and very proud for still speaking Hakka !
