  • The meaning of life according to Jonny Greenwood and Simon Pummell! Bodysong needs to be experienced on an instinctive rather than analytical or critical level, so sit back and enjoy.

  • genius !!!! my wish is 2 kiss his brain !!! cuz the music and clip are just amazing !

  • cool

  • Great!

  • Fuckin awesome!

More than all i super liked the 2nd song, 24 hours charleston!

  • sometimes I wonder if people understand music like this

do people like this music because they understand it? Or is it because its "Jonny Greenwood" ?

  • Comment removed

  • @MrNeyus there is nothing to "understand." this kind of music is all about feeling.

  • @MicahBuzan true, music is about feeling but the fact that it takes time for some people to truly understand and grasp the original form of the music makes me wonder if people actually are hearing what Greenwood is hearing while he makes his music.

  • @MicahBuzan a good example is you know how theres a time where you listen to an album and you say "its horrible" but then after a while of listening you say "you know what, this album is actually not bad". The thing about our mind today is that our brain has closed in some of the path where we won't take our music to but if you were to open that path and accept what you are hearing without trying to be bias you can not only enjoy the music but really understand the music.

  • johny keenwood is my favrite radiohead cover band from him

  • 5:18 the name of this artist?

  • after watching and listening to this song you think that everything is posible.

  • sweet ... he's amazing...

  • he's genius mucician...

  • this reminds me of Jimmy Page on Lucifer Rising. I really like it! Sounds like heaven to me.

  • what song is in 4:20??

  • Jesus this is awesome

  • The last song drives me mad because from the first start of bass my mind exploded and I loved it and it's perfect and woah. I might as well be dead because I've been whipped in my future music career twice now.

  • @ dragonflyGirl09 I sensed that as well - sinister? it's downright macabre. The music ties it all together in a way that is pure genius.

  • My eleven year old sister walks into the room, I have this clip on full blast.

    Sister: What's this?

    Me: Jonny Greenwoods soundtrack stuff.

Sister: This is weird. He's weird. I like it!

I have never loved her more than this moment now.

  • I have found another album to love and listen to over and over again =) Thanks for the upload!!

  • Jonny is underrated genius

  • Oh! Shit, I just search somethink that :D

  • Wow! Is it just me or does this score highlight something very disturbing and sinister and haunting about those otherwise perfectly pleasant normal images and clips?

  • You can hear the Messiaen influence here more than anywhere else, I think.

  • 13 people are Lady Gaga fans

  • He should make the music for Lucifer Rising

  • Where can I buy that spray bottle at 06:06?

I really need such a bottle at this time, to keep the dangers out.

The video matches the song (or maybe songs is a better word?).

However this type of music is the main reason why I started loosing interest for Radiohead, after enjoying having all of the group's albums in the collection.

I even returned "Kid A" to the shop but bought "Amnesiac", which was a lot better, although still strange.

Aha...it's mr J. Greenwood that made me lose interest.

  • OOOOOO BOOBS @ 4:38 XD XD XD XD XD 8D 8D 8D 8D 8D 8D

  • @YornMan you're definitely the target audience for this film

  • bravo.

  • It's like Mondo Cane i like it.

  • Not one person mentioned Steve Reich or John Adams?..........:( You people really have no idea........

  • This man'a entire aim is zero. Is there actually a point for this chaos? Please tell me! I see different civiliazations, but all are equal.

  • @jackzwinger its like finding the theme behind a novel but this really dictates the spirit of humans in celebration and in creation, both in dance and art. There's no real answer other than the one that you create from your own reasoning and wisdom.

  • its like a bad acid trip!

  • great song. check out pta!

  • hE IS A GENIUS!

  • the first song is very similar to his Plainview scores in There Will Be Blood.

  • @83BM that's what PTA asked for.

  • That was fucking beautiful... beyond the codeine and bourbon.

  • Does anyone know if they released the b-sides to the Bodysong soundtrack on CD?

  • people r crayzy with no self disiplen

  • wow

  • From 1:56 to 4:18 is the course contemporary music might take...

  • @datevid una ilusión optica en el minuno 2.22

  • Video was made by Johnny?

  • @bufonoise no, the film Bodysong is an archive based film directed by Simon Pummel. It's on youtube, in parts.

  • god i love india!!

    What a video!

  • this reminds me of a band called matmos

  • @cacaolover1 great band

  • 2006 such a year....

  • It reminds me a lot of one of the movements in Olivier Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time.

  • I don't know why he's doing the soundtrack for Norwegian Wood...he may be good, but it just doesn't fit to me. I want Ryuichi Sakamoto!

  • beautiful

  • It hurts me to see great talents such as Jonny or even his band Radiohead not being appreciated as much as the untalented artists that we see chirping all day long in MTV or any other music channel. Respect Jonny for another of your masterpiece.

    Cheers!

  • scary songs... somehow it reminds me 28 days later soundtrack

  • i love jonny greenwood

  • wow...i've never heard a song end life that!!!

    oh joy ÷´)

  • @zernestro upps, like

  • Music is ripped straight from the film Waking Life.

  • amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing.

  • jonny is the most under rated musician ever. he doesn't get enough credit. he is an absolute musical genius

  • @biscuitchannel thumb up

  • @biscuitchannel And got robbed by the Oscar committee -- his score for There Will be Blood made that movie what it was......

  • @biscuitchannel I don't think he's underrated at all. lol. He's respected by most to be one of the most influential musicians of the era. He gets plenty of credit. He gets to record with a multi-million dollar recording group every couple years, he gets to compose symphonic music for BBC, and simply, he makes a living making incredible sounds. That's all anyone could ever want in my opinion. He's just not an attention whore. There are plenty of more underrated musicians than Greenwood.

  • @biscuitchannel I mean he's the BBC's composer in residence, he does get some credit but yeah I still agree. He's currently writing an album with Penderecki though so people are definitely noticing!

  • The clearest definition of vibrato in a language that nobody understands... Jonny works in mysterious ways...

  • those mandolins that start about come about 2 minutes in are devilish. jonny's a genius.

  • great

  • Awesome Jonny!!!

  • 1:55 the change up is the business!

  • Lol that guy in red is Sinterklaas @ 1:40

  • @dfjnjfn What a pointless comment.

  • @HangTheScientologist, erm.. I LOL'd at what jaapznl said about the guy being sinterklaas @ 1:40... so in my opinion wasn't a very pointless comment, because that is funny.. as for the video itself, it's one of the best imagery and music combinations I have ever seen... so... i din't actually LOL at the video itself.. okay..

  • @dfjnjfn Ok sir i am sorry. Love you. x

  • teh song that starts from 4:21 with a jazzy beat to it is the best song in the whole movie in my opinion, it makes me lose my mind!

  • @chinguidinsky That song is called "Splitter". You should try "24 Hour Charleston", his brother Colin plays bass.

  • one of the best combinations of music and imagery I have ever seen..

  • nice movie

  • Fucking awesome.

  • super bisarro.!...me encanta!

  • i am with chopsticks and gargoyles and this paper hat and some chalk

  • At 4:44 it seems Britney Spears has hit a new low.

(Apologies for bring up Britney Spears so close to actual artistic talent)

  • Great Music!!

I was boring listening Radiohead, but Greenwood had makes me feel like a hummningbirdflyngingreenforestofblood

  • i know how you feel loooool

  • radiohead and any music thats made within them is most times overwhelming and leaves me speachless... terrifying is the least too say

  • those mandolins at 1:50 sound like demons sratching on the doors of hell. truly insane sounds jonny greenwood is capable of. i made an animated music video on my channle; it's somewhat inspired by bodysong (more the music than the footage).

I understand this will probably get marked as spam for saying that lol.

  • @seapockets

    2:50

    fixd

  • Jonny Greenwood is an amazing solo artist...even outside of Radiohead his music is just as fantastic, and this piece almost overshadows the visuals it is put to ...I would definitely hire him to write the score for my own film if I ever made one.

  • jus watched a bit of this film while i was eating and i nearly got sick...shows women havin babies n shit!! yuuuuuk..

  • Bodysong is on Film4 tonight at around half 2. Going by this clip I'd guess it's gonna be similar to truly remarkable films like KOYANNISQATSI and BARAKA.

  • huuuuuu is perfect

  • this is more than just music, its art!!

  • this is perfect

  • jonny greenwoods solo work makes me feel sick to my stomach, insane, and extremely happy all at the same time.

  • Yeah those rolling stone greatest guitarist poles don't mean jack. Weren't Munkey and Head from Korn in there. Exactly.

  • el video es increíble, las imágenes muy bien escogidas....y con la pedazo de canción.............alucinante!

  • Jonny Greenwood is most definitely one of the most underrated musicians ever. He's freaking brilliant.......

  • indeed he is... he was rated number 59 on rolling stone's 100 greatest guitarists of all time

  • awesome video...

  • something about the song at 1:53 sounds oddly familiar...hmmm...

  • this man has a whole universe of sound going on in his mind, from this song´s intro to the paranoid android solos, to the guy who smashed his guitar against the floor to make it sound weird, to the computer programing on idioteque,

  • dont forget his various pedal effects like the whammy and the delay the man is just amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • @Computerdisplay not to mention his amazing skill with instruments , did you know he can play 14 different instruments ?! Amazing .

  • 3:55 sick

  • what is the premise of the film? does anybody know?

  • i used to own this and the cd but looks like i lost it

it basically just shows different cultures and how they show different emotions

  • Its a film that uses clips of various sceens to show the cycle of life. It starts out with sperm and eggs then proceeds to the birth. Then it touches on various other things like religion, sex, disease, all the while keeping to the order of life to death. The special features of the video are wonderful

  • make a film with documentary records to tell the story of humanity, like a body..I think

  • horaaay! indonesian dance @ 2:23. thx jonny

  • This is binding in a sense, you feel the intrigue, the haunting atmosphere of the song, but once you're going to discover what's that true feeling of uncertainty, its erratic presence vanishes.

    Amazing, but odd.

  • Jonny is a brilliant, troubled, gifted young soul.

  • Don't think he's troubled, or young.

  • well, that's a matter of opinion.

  • This film blew my mind.

Moving, Joyful yet somehow sombre at the same time.

This piece of music is very haunting.

  • Comment removed

  • Bizarre and wonderful.

  • OMG @ music that started at 5:14!!! Jonny is amazing!

  • im not sure is greenwood playing bass

  • he's the composer for crying out loud !

  • yeah colin greenwood is playing bass. but this is jonny greenwood - guitarist, keyboard, and more...

  • It's an amazing film....and amazing music!!!

  • Coś fantastycznego!

  • omg that sine wave bass is absolutely amazing

  • Holy sh.t, the track started at 1:54 is amazing... :)

  • Amazing!!

  • utterly brilliant. i guess that's why BBC's concert orchestra hired jonny as a homecomposer.

  • Comment removed

  • its good, well its amazing but he is ripping off messiaen at times, but then again who cares!!

  • se lo voy a poner a mi vecino esquizofrenico cuando le de un tripi.nini ni ni nini!

  • When the music can entirely alter the attitude of a cinematic work, you know theres something special about it.

  • total art

  • Wow! From 1:53 to 4:18 it sounds so dark and creepy, just like Erich Zann's music from Lovecraft's "Call of Cthulhu"! Fits perfectly, isn't it? Amazing!

  • wow this is definitely next on my list of "things to shroom to" lol

  • I was thinking the same thing...

  • that was heaven for 7 minutes...

  • rsgenial

  • (Y)

    genial

  • he's a genius..

  • extraordinary, colors, shapes, textures, atmosphere....impressive for a 1 am movie...thank you for sharing

  • What movie is this?

  • I think is the most impressive documental ever seen,

I'm so sick of cowardly idiots who cannot understand things. bring it forth.. i don't mind listening. else for those who just gave red down points for lsd being mentioned . go fuck yourselves! the odds are you never experienced anything so divine. or to the understanding of it apart from what idiots inform. SET AND SETTING, : leary go seek!

    Saludos!

  • The film it´s great, beauty image and music, but the mostly important shots are about of oriental cultures, and there show like phenomenons, i think, the anglo american-cultures have much for show, and i seen little bit of it, that makes me think that maybe the film have a partial point of view, i don´t know why the film not show more of the anglo-american culture, in the end, all we are a phenomenon.

    Sorry for my english.

    Greetings!

  • sucha geniuos

  • What is the style of trumpet (if not trumpet please tell me.) playing called on the third track called. It's very fast and loud, and a bit abstract. Please, I'm a filmmaker who needs help in finding a way, such as this, to express my ideas.
