I remember they used to run those in my city the last friday of every month! For some reason they stopped doing it. I have not heard them run for years and I kinda miss it. Thanks for the nostalgia
What brand is this ? We have one at our fire station for a back up, we give it a whirl every now and again, It's a WW2 siren thats been refurbed, but it seems to be a slightly higher pitch, not much, but enough to be different to this one.
Reminds me of the Thunderbolt...

Same port ratio. The thunderbolt is 5/6, these are 10/12.

The Fluted one would have to be a realy silly amount for me to part company with it.
As the Next one is in better condition still the thought did cross my mind as i do diverse to WW2 jeeps
and they cost me a hell of a lot when i get one to restore. But all is covered for the meantime.

This model is the type as used for WW2 and it has a known history.
It is made by Gents of Leicester and came from cental plymouth were it was pole mounted until 1990.

It would be great if you could get somebody to record that from a good distance while it is sounding the air raid signal.
