  • Reminds me of the Thunderbolt...

  • Same port ratio. The thunderbolt is 5/6, these are 10/12.

  • thunder bolt it still epic tho

  • I remember they used to run those in my city the last friday of every month! For some reason they stopped doing it. I have not heard them run for years and I kinda miss it. Thanks for the nostalgia

  • Very Nice! Sounds like it just came out of the factory!

  • Thanks Not bad for something 71 years old.

  • what brand and model are these? I WANT ONE

  • They are the Gents of leicester 4HP syren

standardised for the uk and made in 1938.

    Hard to find.

  • Incredibly nice sound. We had one on our fire station before it got hit by lightning and havnt seen it since

  • These are my favorite sirens.

  • cool

  • Fantastic! great restoration.....brilliant wartime sound.

  • But you are NOT going to sell it! are you.

  • The Fluted one would have to be a realy silly amount for me to part company with it.

As the Next one is in better condition still the thought did cross my mind as i do diverse to WW2 jeeps

and they cost me a hell of a lot when i get one to restore. But all is covered for the meantime.

  • I WANT TO BUY THIS SIREN FROM YOU PLEASE

  • I am working on another carter at the moment which will be run on this site very soon so keep posted.

    It is like new.

If i was to sell it i would put it on Ebay,But not yet.

  • cool, almost looks like u put fans on a grinding wheel :P

  • What brand is this ? We have one at our fire station for a back up, we give it a whirl every now and again, It's a WW2 siren thats been refurbed, but it seems to be a slightly higher pitch, not much, but enough to be different to this one.

  • This model is the type as used for WW2 and it has a known history.

It is made by Gents of Leicester and came from cental plymouth were it was pole mounted until 1990.

  • It would be great if you could get somebody to record that from a good distance while it is sounding the air raid signal.

  • By the way, great restoration job. This is really one of those videos to watch over and over again.

  • Many thanks i feel the compulsion to watch it aswell

    very addictive.

  • My sister heard it 2 miles away and it sounded ghostly

  • Sweet

    "Two thumbs way way up!"

  • Its a privilege glad you enjoyed

  • Congratulations! Been well worth the wait! Well done.

  • Many thanks i have loved every minute
