I agree that the repetition is obnoxious. I think the makers of the video want too desperately to catch up with the conservative message-machine that has been (more-successfully) altering people's minds with such phrases as "war on terror" and "tax relief" for years. The fact that you consciously perceive it as an attempt to "hypnotize" you indicates that this particular film-maker has not yet mastered the art of effective propaganda.

To answer this article's first question, war is justified when it acts against real, legitimate threats to national security. When nations can't even be expected to address all their own problems, it's foolhardy idealism that makes one nation trying to solve the problems of another sound like a good idea.

Some of them are quite intelligent and well educated. Their hunger for power gets them in positions of power in governments and corporations. That's how we and up with "nations that pursue their own interests".
