hello greetings, buy HP Pavilion g4, pre-installed Windows 7 Starter, which is too simple, and look for a cereal and I could upgrade to ultimate, one day I found a system called windows8 download and install it, but it is in English, which do not quite understand and are not registered and I can not install the updates, so I can not switch to Spanish and try to restore the factory system, but disappeared recovery Manager, please re-install and recovery Manager?

Hello, i am thinking to by this laptop for University. I also have a DV7 but it is to big and heavy to carry around. I have looked at netbooks but they are very small for me. I think 13 inches is the right size.

My question is, do you have any problems with the laptop. For example, with the keyboard, mousepad, or does it overheat make noice. And does it get scratches.

HP changed it! It no longer comes in brushed aluminum finish!--deal breaker...it now has a gross matte black finish on top with "silver" on the inside.

They stopped making the Dm3t, the Dm3 with Intel Processors and replaced it with the Dm4t. Its very very strong for such a small profile with a core i5 processor and optical drive but IMO its much less stylish, especially the wedge like shape its in. They still sell the Dm3z however, but that uses AMD (which I dont like) and only goes up to 1.6 Ghz -_-

I'm pretty sure you can custom order it off HP's website with those processor types. I believe they offer various AMD processor options and Intel options including i3 and i5 if I'm not mistaken.

Compared to a lot of other laptops, the Mac books are actually pretty good. All the Mac books Ive seen come with at least an Intel Core 2 Duo and a dedicated video card. Yes, they are overpriced, but they are still pretty decent computers.

AMD is known to run out the battery and Intel is much better overall. Go intel, Its only like 70 dollars more, and definately worth it

The Intel CPU will very likely perform better, and I've heard the battery life on the Intel version is better, though I can't confirm that.

The AMD is a bit faster but it uses battery life a lot more. Intel is slow but has amazing battery life. AMD graphics card is better.

That would depend on which version of the Intel CPU you get; HP offers it with everything from a 1.2 Ghz Celeron up to a 2.26 Ghz Core 2 Duo with a NVIDIA GeForce G 105M.

i would rather suggest the hp dv4 or 3. It has a cd/dvd drive that's removable, bigger, faster, and it's only $50 or $100 more if you want the intel processors. Don't buy it online from their website (it's $600 for a worse processor) though. If there's a fry's or best buy near you. it would be a better deal. However, if you like it being light, or the graphics card on this, then go for this.

i just bought this computer and it is fantastic! i bought the dm3-1040 first with intel processor and the video quality and overall performance of the computer is very fast. but there was a small crack on the black trimming of the screen so i took it back and bought the 1035 with amd processor and the performance is exactly identical.(no difference) so if your looking to get this i say get the amd processor maybe 50-100 bucks cheaper. GREAT computer looks better then macbook pro in my opinion!

he's blattenly lying, I own one and you see fingerprints all over the laptop and specially over the mousepad, which is, in my opinion the big error in this pc. Everybody told me it's crap, and in my opinion it is.. your finger gets sticked in the mousepad and this makes it difficult to control, very nice but very crap

You think I'm lying? Wow. Overreact much? I'm sure if you touched the lid then held it up at JUST the right angle to the light you could see your fingerprint, but what kind of an idiot would do that? The finish hides fingerprints better than most, though it's no surprise that the gloss trackpad - which has a different finish than the body, which is what I was talking about - shows fingerprints. But it's where your fingers go, so who cares?
