The biggest thing for me is that the characters still act like themselves. IE they aren't just using other games characters with their own generic dialog, and only including a few token scenes where the character might say one of their catch phrases and that's it.
I would say he could of gave it 6.5 because it's not unplayable and doesn't have really bad glitches like some games. I would probably give it a 8 because it's good, but has some noticeable flaws.

The game is in 2D sprites so you'll have more longer gameplay. Graphics are great & all, but that's not the reason it makes a good game. For those who only look for graphics in a game, they have no concept on why games are created the way they are.
New generation game systems are not made to only have better graphic chips. They are made to be more fun no matter what the game is.
I don't see how it being 2D would extend the replay or actual gameplay length. Plenty of other games are longer than 2D games. Gran Turismo, FF can last as long as Disgaea if you count Blitzball and other sidequests, Shooting games also.
I never said I only cared about the graphics, however it is a part of the game and if it can be upgraded it should be.
Also all the graphics talk shouldn't even be considered for a new game. It should only pertain to classics.

I paid 400 dollars for a ps3. The least they could do is put up a game that uses the fucking hardware that I paid for. This looks like all their other games on the psp, ds, and ps2. I'm not saying I don't like it, but really if I paid 400 dollars for a PS3 and they're making fucking old school games like this, its like a slap in the face.
yeah, you can simply say that, maybe they need to enhance the sprite character at least like BlazBlue now, but it's a totally different style of games on any PS3 games so far, at least disgaea 3 is there.

Its an eyesore to be playing a shitty looking game on a ps3 when it should look better considering the new technology and whatnot. They're just lazy. Its like having frame rate issues in a great racing game. Yes, the game is great, but the lag makes it less enjoyable.

Yes, because I don't like playing something on a 400 dollar machine, when I could be playing it on a DS or a PSP. The only reason this doesn't look better is because the companies are lazy. They don't feel like learning the PS3's mechanics because its more difficult and they've already mastered the PS2.
You willingly paid 400 dollars for the console, it's up to you what you wish to play on it.
Consoles have little to do with the fact that these games add variety. Idea Factory don't come up with amazing games, but it's still there for the crowd who want them. Not your thing? Find something else then. I don't buy consoles because I want them, I buy consoles for the games beside them.
What you should be finding is your true self, and not expect every company to deliver first party-like quality.
I'm sorry but...if this is for the ps3, great. That means I can play with Morrigan!~ The graphics are absolutely unacceptable for this. Time to move on, it's the ps3, not ps1 or ps2. They could at least make it cell shaded or something. I'm not sold on this yet, because of those graphics, and the game play is almost like Valkyrie Profile...Lately there's nothing that seems original coming out.

Actually, i heard that the trophies are an excuse. Since AT2 had bugs in it, NIS Japan totally owned NIS America, so now NIS America has to own up again and redeem themselves. They're probably checking things over again and again. Plus, it shouldn't be hard to add trophies, only a few days.
Those published titles like ArTonelico and Atelier Iris always have problems. Such as for one I don't know why none of the Atelier Iris games had a "quit game" option. You had to turn it off during the game, not sure if that hurts it, but I always thought it was best to turn it off at the title screen.
and yeah I don't see why adding trophies would add-on two extra months.
Costume colors and Taunts are unlocked by Survival and Time challenges.
the Trophies are themselves unlocked by various achievements(the trophies serve as proof of them), as such the actual trophies arn't really used to unlock anything with-in the game other than other achievements that are "more proof" of doing all those things.
Good game great gameplay, Id say only minus is its a little short, I miss the games that took like 3 week of nonstop gaming to finish. Other then that honestly game is great.
Those games don't require good graphics to be fun, but the Final Fantasy X game for the ps2 has good graphics, and it's also fun. So like you said, if you're a person thats looking for a fun game with horrible graphics, get mario/streetfighter/sonic/this game.

Is this really for the ps3...this seems to be a BIG downgrade compared to what I've seen from the Ps2. FF10's graphic from the Ps2 by far kills this game, hell FF7's graphic does too.

The combat seems like one of those games that picks up nicely by the end. With only one character, lack of attacks to combo, and low levels it may look boring. However, I would like to play this, too bad I don't have time to try to play an import.
