My daughter wasn't amused for some reason. Oh well. I haven't seen one of these for a long time. I'm still as impressed as when I first saw one. Modern technology can't hold a candle to this IMHO.. Thanks.
Blast of nostalgia. In 1977, I was just a kid in a new Queens neighborhood, and we visited a very stylish diner in Forest Hills
with one of these in front. I was a Seeburg jukebox enthusiast at the time, but found this an elegant touch. The whole place disappeared within a few years.
You know, I think you're right, this version sounds much better. The instruments in the Stafford seem to be a little off. I guess it must because it has been playing constantly for years.
The amount it has been played shouldn't have anything to do with it. All the rolls where cut the same way. Someone must have tried rebuilding it and tubed the instruments the wrong way. The accordion is playing on the wrong scale and the wood block and bass drums are also not playing when they should. Maybe I should send that guy a tubing diagram. Ha HA. Thanks for your comments. I think that's all the videos I'm putting on here till my next Nickelodeon is finished. Talk to you soon, Robert
Am I right in saying that this tune is 'It's A Small World'?

why does the piano sound different at 0:52 so on, than it did in the beginning?

Your hearing the Mandolin attachment . Gives the piano the "Rinky-Tink" sound somewhat like a Harpsichord.

WOW! Thats amazing! How does it work exactly; does it use electric, or is it pumped somehow? Goodjob on the restoration.
musicmakesthewrldspn 3 years ago
It has an electric motor to power an air pump. The action which makes the parts move pneumatic however.
