I went to Viet Nam a few weeks after turning 19. Three weeks later I came close to dying. Three months after that I had my 2nd brush with death. In 1968 I got out -then in 1975 I went back in the Navy and retired in 1992. Although time has passed I still carry the War within and I'll always be be Young and a Soldier. Only those of us who have served in the military love our country with ALL of our heart, Soul, and Spirit even though we're scarred for life. This is my "Favorite Song" of all time.
I deploy to Afghanistan in December. Bush isnt sending me though, thought the war was gonna be over when he left office, but whatever. We have a war every generation.

@MrRagman2009 Try taking a look at the Liberals in Canada, They have become more racist and damaging to the country than the right by a long shot. Muslims cry about something here and they change the laws to suit them. Muslims don't want boys and girls in school together and the governments out west cave in to their minority demands. And you know who's supporting this crap? Liberals. Tolerance? How about fucking tolerance for the laws and traditions of the country you're immigrating to?
i bought a vintage poster from some old hippies with lyrics to this song on it. the poster is over 40 yrs old and yellowed, but it's still as true as ever.
