It's Sigur Rós. I haven't heard this particular song before though, but there's no mistaking their sound. Do yourself a favor and go listen to their album "Takk...". The songs Sæglópur and Heysátan {... meaning Haystack in Icelandic}.

Thank you ever so much for posting this - I have never been to Japan, nor studied its spiritual or architectural history - but I'd created a work a few months ago, that came from a dream of sorts. It depends what you mean by historical. The whole country is the same age. The whole world is.

The oldest buildings are in Nara, I believe. That city is just south of Kyoto and was the capital before Kyoto became capital.

Kyoto is the setting for The Tale of Genji, which is considered the oldest novel in the world.
