I've been to Kyoto. It was the highlight of my trip. If anyone here would like to go or is considering it, I highly recommend that you do. Its a beautiful city with the old and the new.
It's Sigur Rós. I haven't heard this particular song before though, but there's no mistaking their sound. Do yourself a favor and go listen to their album "Takk...". The songs Sæglópur and Heysátan {... meaning Haystack in Icelandic}.
OMG... tx for the video... Im brazilian and enjoy pretty much the japanese country and culture, It's my dream to go to japan... but here is a little difficult to travel there =\... This video just increases my desire to travel there, magnific place! =]
thanks for your kind complements you will also find that i have quite a few videos about japan. i spent a year out there it was the best year of my life soo much fun
Thank you ever so much for posting this - I have never been to Japan, nor studied its spiritual or architectural history - but I'd created a work a few months ago, that came from a dream of sorts. Music, and purloined images. I never checked the validity or actualilty of the images, I just coordinated the images that "felt" right. Your lovely video has validated so much information for me. Maybe I was there, in a past life? =o)
I just cant stop smiling - I went to japan this summer, an almost all the time I was there, I listend to the Sigur Ross. The music and the country kinda stuck together for me now... And now this vid...
Actually, I would rephrase that as "Most Japanese people are like a mirror. If you smile with them, they smile with you. If you are sad, they seem sad."
What happens when you're confronted with a world that's totally different than your own? You project.
I've had a lot of Japanese smile at me. So, speak for yourself.
Beautifull! You took some nice pictures...I would like to visit this magic place too...the music you used was perfectly appropriate..Could you please tell me the name of the artist and the title of the song?
We went for school for exchange program with a school in Tahara, we went there true tokyo, kyoto, nara, toba, tahara. then true hakone mountains and then tokyo again.
Fantastc! It reminded me of when I went to Kyoto, and I can recall all of the same places as in the video.
I think that for a visitor to Japan, Kyoto is the best place to start.
Thanks for the video show.

Kyoto is the most historical city in Japan, I think..... isn't it??
ieei468 4 years ago 2
nara is the most historical city. it was the capital before kyoto. but its the second most historical city

i think I might head to Kyoto after post-secondary education. but i dont know where to start planning.
feelmyice 4 years ago
It depends what you mean by historical. The whole country is the same age. The whole world is.
The oldest buildings are in Nara, I believe. That city is just south of Kyoto and was the capital before Kyoto became capital.
Kyoto is the setting for The Tale of Genji, which is considered the oldest novel in the world.

have u ever been to japan? smiling at you and being nice to tourists are the their most top priority.
just go to a local, you will be greeted as a 'Sir' Welcome Customer! (is japanese of cos)
you will most likely be guided (if in a small store and not a department) until you leave, saying thank you even if u dun buy anything lol
