Thanks! i'm playing a cheap banjo made by Tennessee instruments. The sound is atrocious and it sounds like a plastic toy but I took the resonator off, I keep a capo on, i also put some clothing under the head and try to play high up on the neck. It sounds ok now.
(i'm hoping i can upgrade sometime in the future, would you recommand the ot-800? it seems to be a good value for the money from what i heard).

@kevinboue1 Yes the 0T 800 is a very good banjo with lots of volume. It has a Tubaphone tone ring that give it its special sound...
