My 8 year old chihuaha Bugsy started 4 units of Humulin n 2x a day starting 2.5 weeks ago but still is excessively drinking/urinating...I am at a loss but glad there is so much info on line and I plan to learn how to test his blood glucose so I know what is going on and can better tend to him, it is a complex disease, I have a lot to learn, this was a good video!
My 11 yr old Pomeranian was diagnosed about 9 months ago with diabetes. He was drinking a lot of water and then he would pee right there on the carpet. After several trips to the vet I now have to give him two shots of insulin a day. He still seems to drink a lot of water, especially in the am. The insulin is expensive but I just can't seem to have him put to sleep. Thanks for explaining why/how this works.
