@lucianodiaz56 ah, sorry, i actually changed my opinion on the hd cause i saw a really good comparison between the hd pro and the axe-fx 2 and that thing sounds so wickedly ballsy. i didn´t like it before cause there were no good demonstrations till i watched that comparison. but still i think line6 doesn´t do anything new looking at the big picture.
@JaredCreations try looking for some new techniques to learn. i just tried to learn gradually and adding some new techs from shredding to sweeping to tapping (more complex tapping) and rhythm wise i just tried coming up with some weird patterns to learn some more precision.
@mauricekindermann no, i do it all in cubase. if you haven´t watched part 7 of my tutorials yet than don´t hesitate to do it. in that one i explain how i create beats and how i come up with them.
@MojoJojo378 I love the grid for mapping out drums on cubase. Sooooooo much easier than any other DAW I've fucked with. What kind of PUPs you using btw?
@MojoJojo378 Cool man thanks! \m/ I play a Schecter Diamond Series 7 same color as yours but with a tremlo system and shitty shitty shitty shitty shitty stock pups LOL. If you get a chance man check out my channel! I would some mixing tips from you! \m/ -Jon
@MojoJojo378 I just watched it then, thanks for posting :).
I think the next logical video for you to do is how you program synth/piano. It would just be interesting to see specifically what you do, including what plugins and what effects you run on them.
There was a time when I was trying to download Eastwest symphonic Orchestra, but I think that would have been over kill and a nightmare to learn. I assume you just use some basic cubase plugin?
@mauricekindermann i´m not going to do an extra part on programming synth/piano. i simply use the key-editor for it. i like to use some of the free stuff by native instruments and other free synth to download. also the Halion1 of cubase has some good instruments. i actually don´t run any extra effects on those cause they mostly sound pretty good as they are.
@MojoJojo378 I just watched it then, thanks for posting :).

@MojoJojo378 cool! i heard that metal foundry kicks ass with its overheads, so i guess this is all avatar except the kick? (dumb question). stoked on the in depth metal production. cheers!
Sounds exactly like every other generic djent song I've heard. It got kind of interesting at 2:20 with the break riff but then went right back to being a generic ripoff of everything else.
@EhsanImani that other vid was just a test. but out of the free ampsims i like the lecto and the nick crow 8508 lead. i usually just use my pod x3 live. sounds crunchier and more aggressive to me.
dude fucking love your sound been using your videos as guidelines, i had a question for you if your guitar sounds weak a bit where would u normally boost to give it more presence ive been boosting around 5-7hz but i find i lack a lot of mid in my guitar tone where would u normally boost and db wise. thanks for your awesome videos bud its seriously aided me a lot
@joeban1985 5-7kHz is a little too high to give it more presence. try boosting somewhere between 3.5-4.5kHz about 2db max. to give it more mids try between 800Hz and 1.5kHz and for more low end between 200-350Hz. for those i´d also suggest to raise 2db. but also experiment with it some more to train your ears. try out how much db has what kind of effect and which frequencies have what kind of tonal aspect for the guitars.
I don't think this sounds too Periphery. And Periphery sounds freakin awesome so what would be the problem anyway? Mixwise I think you've nailed in pretty much every song of yours. So imo just don't adjust too much it. This is not tone of Periphery its the tone of awesome djent!
@Zirgh i gotta be completely honest, this actually sucks mixing and mastering wise. i worked on it and it sounds way better now. i´ll do some new tutorials for it soon.
@th3flash23 the weird thing is i just mixed it the basic way, put some mastering over it and it came out to sound pretty similar to periphery. but i´m still working on it.
@Darkvinx88 it´s a combination of the SM7B_TS_grill_edge_pres_4 and the NT5_TS_stereo_live_room_pres_5. the volume of the first one is on 0.700 and the second on 0.500
do you know of any good software guitars? as i currently dont have a way of recording. also "the metal foundry" is just an expansion of "superior drummer" right? meaning i need to get superior drummer first?
@xlambxofxruinx an impulse response is like an accurate digital copy of the frequency response of a guitar cab. so instead of having a huge cab and having to mic it up you just load an impulse response with an impulse loader as an effect, bypass the cab simulation on your amp modeler and baam - your tone sounds more realistic and has more tone cause the cab simulations of amp modelers usually don´t sound all to great.
Just wanted to let you know that I listened to A.I. and it was amazing! I heard a lot of Tosin influence in it and loved it! For your cleans in it, is the tone more from the X3 or post processing? I would love to have that clean in A.I. and Nightmares in Daydreams on my X3!

Really loving your stuff. Set-up / Mixing / Master / Songs, all good. I'm particularly lucky that I also use Cubase and own an X3.
