very nice! i did a video like this with my mixer but i just linked send output into "normal" input so it wont make very interesting sounds. i thought about buying a little mixer like this only to use it as a synth.
ahh, dude this is classy. been surfing the "no input" vids on here, and most everything is straight noodling (well i guess that 99.9% of youtube anyway)... watching this reminded me that noise can be fun AND musically interesting, cheers =)
@cghowdy been using a few mixers for feedback for quite a while, no damage yet :) Speakers are another matter though-would recommend running through a filter to restrict the extreme low frequencies that could work the speakers a bit too hard.
@TTTsnare Do you base this statement on experience? People are always saying "don't do no-input mixer, it'll fry your gear," but not only does this make no sense to me, I've never heard of anybody actually experiencing fried gear.
@cghowdy yes it can. i used to do this with a danelectro fish and chips eq pedal. put a "Y" splitter on the out put send ont to the input of the pedal and the other to effects or amp and you have a cool little drone synth. now the key phrase in all this is "used to". the pedal is completely shot, but im not crying over it i think i paid 9 bucks for it lol. dont go doing this with a toft or somthing like that lol.
@BernadetteBruch most people call it a 'feedback loop'.. you can do it with any gear that you can send the sound output back into (and preferably with gear that processes that input somehow)
Great idea !

@kdwade Yes. I've burnt out 2 mixers by doing this. Completely fried one and only fried two channels on the other.

Nice, I think Behringer mixers are the best for no-input stuff. 1604a is great for techno!

That's called a feedback loop.

@cghowdy If you do it for too long at one time, you'll blow the circuitry inside. Then you'll start to smell burnt hot dogs.
