FWI...I believe the album art is inspired by C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy, along with some of the lyrics. Which partly goes to show you that their lyrics are very well thought out, perhaps even literary. It also goes to show you that C.S. Lewis was not entirely a children's author.

@Chatty707 If you want to understand them, the best thing I can recommend is listen to them while reading the lyrics. Eventually you grow accustomed to the style and can understand them without help.

I transitioned from hard Christian rock to metal through a transition from lighter to heavier bands. Try Demon Hunter maybe, they have a lot of clean sung and melodic music woven into their songs.
