When I watched this movie as a kid, I loved this part mostly for the music.
Watching it now, I can see a dark statement about the over-dependence on technology, made ironic due to today's everyday use by idiots who uses cell phones, IPods, computers and...uh...
Well anyway, I can also see an slight nod towards Orwell's 'Big Brother' state which, sadly, America is slowly becoming like.
I haven't seen this in years. i was a kid when i saw this in New York City Manhattan. They showed it on a pay movie channel called, Showtime must have been in their animation segment area. I forgot the name, and what it was about. All I could remember was the Rise Robots Rise song. It was engraved in my head. I searched on youtube before but didn't find it. when I searched 4 it, all i can put in the field is, Rise Robots RIse. now i found it, and can now die happy. thx 4 posting it.
Oh. My. God. I've had Rise Robots Rise in my head for like forty years (they used to show this movie on TV in Indy every Easter or something) but I was never able to find out what it was associated with. When you are just a few years old you don't catalog things well. Kewl! Thanks for saving my brain.
Thanks for posting this! I remember seeing this at the movies when I was 11 years old. It only cost me .50 cents to see it! Please can you post the whole entire movie, it would be such a wonderful thing if you did. I beleive that ShattyMcPants, schaf24, and Bizzarronumber4 would'nt mind if you do! Thanks!
Damn! I had been looking for this for years! Didn't remember the name of the movie--- when I would describe it to my peers (especially sing the song) they'd look at me as if I'd lost my mind lol

Wow! I saw this as a kid at a friend's party, and this song has haunted me for decades. It's a real treat to hear it after all these years!

Thanks for posting this. I haven't seen this movie in 35 years. To think a young Hiyao Miyazaki worked on it.
