Very true i'm Filipino and italian and i live in staten island, new york moved here at the age of 11, I used to get into constant fights because kids would be very racist towards me. Also there's no such thing as personal preference if it's more then one Asian girl I saw do this. As you say it's a culture thing. I look at all of us as equals now, I was not at first but then I saw with my own eyes a good Black guy get turned down by Asian girl for no reason. It's stereotype even with us. My belief is that the white majority in the U.S. do not want to see any minority in powerful positions. They still hold to the idea that America is white and should only be in control by whites. Look at Ronald Reagan , he's white , but an actor from Hollywood.

there's a lot of cultural conflicts and not just racial conflicts, like the one between koreans and japanese, simply because of the history. if a japanese american organization wants to discuss prejudice and discrimination on behalf of the entire asian community, they have to come to terms with the history of their own actions against other "inferior" asian cultures and i think we're a long way off from that unfortunately.

Very true i'm Filipino and italian and i live in staten island, new york moved here at the age of 11, I used to get into constant fights because kids would be very racist towards me. I literally had to fight my way to get friends on. On top of that when i meet girls or just new people, i get " wow u don't act like the way u look." ANdi 'm like how tdo i look, they say very quiet like a little kid. I'm 21 now and i've always been goofy and outspoken, so i guess it shocks people.

We seem to do well cuz WE DON'T COMPLAIN.We just take it.I don't hate on blacks cuz they r always on t.v.I get racism from blacks and whites all the time.We don't get gov't assisted programs.Our only card is our education yet white liberals hold us back for blacks and Hispanics that r unqualified.Yes, they never show our struggles on t.v. yet when they do show us it's always something negative like gangsters on t.v. and stuff.

Let's take PBS. I see more documentaries on history of african-american more that history of Asian, mid.eastern, or native americans. It is my own very observation. I heard that jewish ppl control the media. Most studios belong to Jewish families. I don't about this conspiracy thing. Maybe it's a lie.

Black and Hispanic ppl have more opportunity in media world than asian/mid.eastern ppl. I see more and more black and hispanic ppl in most movies playing good roles. Less asian and mid.eastern in movies. If they are in movies they are portrayed in a negative way, all the time.
