  • Ya'll should read the book, it's quick (you'll finish it in 6-8 hours) and is way better than the movie.

  • Why did carson bring flowers? Isn't that a bit gay? Or is carson gay?

  • @Varangian1915 He brought him flowers because he is a boss. Men who think "No, I can't bring another guy flowers, that's gay" generally have some insecurity issues. Carson probably brought him flowers (And I would bring a guy friend flowers) because 1. Its hilarious 2. Its a gentlemanly thing to do 3. (And most importantly) He is confident enough to understand that his status as a man is not altered by something as insignificant as a plant. HE IS A BOSS.

  • @Blackcat5267 Wow you're neurotic.

  • @Blackcat5267 Wells is a professional hitman and used to work with Chigurh.

The flowers are a matter of courtesy and since he was visiting a patient in hospital it's natural.

Call it "Southern Hospitality" -- that's just the way they do things down there. Wells is not, however, a "goody guy." One of the main points in this story is that there are no "good guys."

  • @Varangian1915 No, he isn't. The novel makes reference to "women he [Wells] has known" (as in sexually.)

  • Sorter would take out Chigurh.

  • It's pretty cool how Llewelyn doesn't even fear what's coming for him. you gotta admire that kind of guy.

  • Sugar..?

  • O ya I know right?

  • Comment removed

  • Sugar?

  • What doesnt make sense is that Wells (Harrelson) found the satchel at the river. Why didnt he take it and get out of town? WTF? Is it an Epic Fail or am i missing something besides obvious movie continuation?

  • Myabe he needed some time to retrieve it, i think he just waited before making his move

  • @mercmarc Ya that is true pt to make, they never really explained it. This movie, while having memorable characters and scenes, had major plot holes and poorly explained sequences.

  • @TheSlothook i dont think so actually, the plots were complex and didn't spoon fed it to you like most other movies out there. The whole point was that the sheriff was getting too old to compete with this "young bloods" thus the name "No country for old men".

  • @LethalSystem Ya maybe. but there were some instances which i felt the movie kind of fell apart. I'll give one prime example that most people felt but couldn't explain. Most of the movie followed Moss and the story seemed to revolve mostly around him at first. He was I guess the person the audience was expected to say was the main character. YET he was killed off almost unexpectedly and his death was done offscreen. That to me causes a disconnect.

  • @TheSlothook I understand your point and it was really weird how ONE of the main characters got killed off screen. But that is why this movie was good, it was not like the other 99.8% of movies where the good guy always wins. The plot wasn't about the money and how Moss was a great hunter, it was about the sherrif not being able to keep up with them. Hence the tittle "No country for old men".

  • @TheSlothook this movie is meant to show you that murders just happen at random, criminals will never disapear, most killings that happen are off screen and random

  • @dasdasist No, you have missed the point entirely.

    You should read the novel.

It's not "random." Moss found the money in the desert, he took it, and that's what started all of this. Chigurh is attempting to recover the money, that's his main objective. He isn't just killing random people to kill them.

  • @TheSlothook Pardon my ignorance, but I could never see the whole movie in it's entirety, so I was shocked when you said Llewelyn was killed. Can you explain a little? I just assumed Anton was still chasing him in that last car-wreck scene....? Thanks for any explanation or interpretation. I really don't want to watch the film again, because I can't stand to see innocents getting killed, like Moss' wife Carla Jean, for example, or the poor guy who's car was stolen.

  • @67marlins Moss is not killed by Chigurh. He is killed by agents of the heroin cartel who finally catch up to him at the motel room. (The original deal in the desert which went wrong was a heroin deal.)

Chigurh is an independant contractor. He recovers the money from the motel room after Moss and the cartel members are all dead or escaped, and then returns it (minus 100k) to the people in Texas who were using it to buy the heroin in the first place.

  • @67marlins Chigurh does gives Moss a chance to save Carla Jean by bringing him the money and allowing himself to be killed.

Moss thinks he can get Chigurh before Chigurh gets him, and he fails, and then Chigurh keeps his word and kills his wife.

Carla Jean and Chigurh have a conversation before he kills her which explains why he is doing it.

And Chigurh gives Carla Jean the chance of the "coin toss," which she looses.

One main point of this story is that there are no "innocents."

  • @ShabbasDragoon Thanks for the explanations, I still hate to see the good guys / girls get killed. I probably will take your suggestion and read the book. My second job is in a package store, and I had visions of Chigurh coming in and asking me to flip a coin.....

  • @67marlins The book is exceptional, very easy to read and has that certain "flow" to it, as most of McCarthy's book do. You'll love it.

Don't worry about Chigurh, there are very few people like him on the planet. You're safe.

  • @mercmarc (respectfully) What you missed is that WH did not find it.

  • @kentamitchell Umm are you watching the same movie as i am? He looks over the fence and sees a satchel in the bushes. That to me clearly suggests he found it. Would you leave a satchel you know has a million dollars in it lying around longer than 1 minute? I wouldnt.

  • why didnt the guy and his wife run to mexico or south america?

  • @fucndeas there were more people looking for him in mexico.

  • notice how the cops didn't accomplish much of anything in this movie. Kinda just drove around, running their mouths.

  • its hard to find a ghost.

  • I think it's about connecting pieces of metal with a torch. Obviously, it's far more complex or somewhat different. But, I'm confident it involves metal and fire.

  • cast iron, its harder 2 weld then steel

  • in the book, chigurh and wells had worked together in the past.

  • They did? Care to explain?

  • Nooo. You don't understaaand.

  • LOL woody harelson

  • Chigurh is the ultimate Badass

  • y so short?

  • no...you don't understand...

  • Whats difficult about welding cast?

  • lol hes a peculiar fellow

  • I gues i would say he doesn't have a sence of humor. lol

  • No.. you don't understand.

  • great line

    What about you guys?

  • you always carry a trick coin in your pocket?

  • rabbel rabbel

  • get back on your mothers tit

    get back to us.............

after you drop your nut sack

  • Such a small part for Harrelson but all his scenes in this movie are top-notch

  • "sugar?"

  • cant wait

  • You've seen him? And you're not dead? huh..

  • I think Harrelson captured the Carson Wells character to a tee...Texas accent/mannerism and everything.

  • Carson Wells=best character!

  • not really...he gets taken care of pretty handily by ole Anton...didnt really put up much of a fight, either

  • It's not about how badass he was, as much as how I just found him interesting. Harrelson's performance was incredible.

  • I sort of know what you mean...an interesting character with interesting affectations...but more frosting than cake,... really

  • Exactly, and I know what you mean.

  • umm... no, the best character hands down was javier bardem's character role as anton chigurh, he is probably one of the creepiest villains to ever live in movies. i don't think harrelson's performance was THAT great, you know javier won best supporting actor at the oscars

  • Everything is subjective and opinion. While Wells' character was minor, I found him very interesting. His laid back style, mannerisms, and attitude made him interesting. He was a bit of a smart ass, and showed some wit. He wasn't a show-boat but he acted like Anton was no big deal, and at the end you could see how he submersed to Anton's evil. Wells was a killer just liked anton, but had intellectual depth. And I still think Harrelson's performance was incredible; likewise the whole cast.

  • Larma, you're right on the money here. Anton Chigurh was a very interesting character, and he was played very well by Bardem; but it was a one-sided character. Harrelson had to play a rather normal character, positive and negative qualities, with a human depth that is much harder to play. Great analysis of Wells; I felt like he could take Anton on, but at their only meeting, Anton had the upperhand and Wells got nervous. He stayed professional, but was nervous. Harrelson played that perfectly.

  • He even brought him flowers!

  • This is a very clear video and a great scene. Thank you and good job.
