Anyway just to say....
Zidane played as a central midfielder for his career. At Juvé, Bordeaux and Madrid he was central midfield.
He didn't play off an attacker like a number 10 as you suggest., just because he wore the number doesn't mean that was his position.
Zidane is one of the greatest central midfielders of all time and when he retires Xavi will be counted amongst the best ever

Zidane is no central midfielder. He's one of the last number 10's along with Ronaldinho. Xavi is a deep lying playmaker who playmakes from the midfield. Zidane is more of the link between Ronaldo/Raul and the midfield. Zidane's main number isn't 10. it's 5. Just cause he wears 5 doesn't mean he's a central mid.
