Love, love, love this film. :o) We are so fortunate to have such support for CSAs here in Oregon and even out here, within in my community on the north Oregon coast. We have several CSAs right here... Lucky us. Local wool, local honey, local fish, local eggs, local veggies...
This is a cool movie. John is an alumni at Beloit College. He screened this movie there my sophomore year. He was definitely wearing a feather boa. The Organic Farm is also amazing, and now there is an informational center, where I've eaten the best bread and vegetable soup.
mwc15 you are entitled to your opinion, but anyone who talks like that sounds like an ungrateful city dweller who has no idea what it takes to feed the world, let alone yourself. I bet you haven't even been on a farm in your entire life.
i purchased yearly shares in the farm - got a box per week of the most amazing produce ever! additionally, farmer john includes a newsletter each week of stories from the farm and musings of his own - plus recipes for what's in that week's box. PLUS subscribers are invited to the farm for dinners, lectures, to help out and hang out. john is a generous soul, a true down to earth visionary and an inspiration. if i hadn't moved to california, i'd still be subscribing. can't wait to see the film!
This guy is a self-aggrandizing tool. If you look into the history of this farm at all you'll easily find that he had little to do with it's rebirth. There were other people who did the hard work he is now taking credit for. He's charming but don't believe it.
If you don't back this up you are merely slandering this invididual. Did you see the movie? He had to fight rumors most of his life. How ironic that this behavior follows him here to youtube.

Watch the movie first. Besides he's not even taking all the credit. Its a story about HIS [PERSONAL] life and struggle.
