I have a theory that the timeline goes Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Seasons/Ages, Links Awakening, and finally Wind Waker. I don't believe in any timeline split at all. The reason why The Hero does not appear is because he was lost at sea. I believe the events told here are between Seasons/Ages & Links Awakening. Which is why he does not appear. He eventually lands on the island that sets Wind Waker.

But thats just my theory.

i remember i was there for the launch of gamecube in new york city by nintendo (see the video on my channel - i was on tv!) back in 2001 nov. i bought this game right at release and it was a LOT of fun. the great music was "Dragon roost island" - i did quit playing though because i became frustrated in the forest and got tired of solving puzzles all day. the game turned out to be more puzzle solving than an action RPG.

@gnrfan5000 When it comes to Link's parents, I know that they mention something in Ocarina of Time about how I think Ganon or someone was destroying the village they were in when Link was a baby and his mom had given him to the Great Deku Tree before she died, and that was he became what the Kokiri thought was one of their own kind.

@EmFanMAX Just been playing this game again for like... the third time I think? Anyway once you finish the Tower of the Gods dungeon **SPOILER ALERT** there are a lot of cinematics and you end up learning that the King of Red Lions (Link's boat) is actually the King of Hyrule, Tetra is Princess Zelda, and that when Ganon returned and Link wasn't there to save everyone, the gods flooded Hyrule and a few Hylians survived on the mountain tops, which became islands. I thought it was a great story!

I would have to say the shell-shading isn't the best graphic style for the Zelda series, but this game is still epic. Great dungeons, great items, fun side quests, a lot of exploration, great bosses...oh and the final blow to Ganondorf is also epic.

I didn't really care for the "toon-shading," but I still enjoyed playing the game. I grew up in the Nintendo age, where graphics were barely a thing to look at until near the end of the system's life. If a game's fun to play, then that's all you really need.

PS the Wii can do four GC (gamecube) controllers, so you can do like Melee too.
