I don't hate dodge cars but at the same time I think people shouldn't give them market share until they earn it. One thing that sounds even stupider than "Semi-Hemi" is calling any modern engine a "Hemi." I dare you to show a cylinder head in production today that doesn't incorporate some form of "hemispherical," design.(Used since WWI) People think they're buying an engine comparable to the highly modified Hemi engines of the 60's. It's an advertising ploy for the uneducated and, dare I say, "rural" folk that hear hemi and think of Richard Petty's NASCAR ride or a 70's rail dragster. Hemi means nothing!!

@jastanger You're right. But that doesn't keep it from being one of the best, if not the best pushrod V8s for all-around everyday use. The MDS system they're talking about in this commercial is quite significant, because IIRC this was the first production engine to really do it successfully. The new 5.7L truck version is getting 390hp, and when they launch the 6.4L it'll have 480, yet fuel economy has gone up in both cases. It's a great engine, it's just not an original (neither is the 426).
