i just studied this in my A.P Lit class and you made it very similar to how I imagined it.

I know that you made this over a weekend, but its still really good.

As a film student my opinion is that maybe you should redo it with more time.

Well, to start off with the acting (sorry if they are your friends or anything) are distractingly unprofessional actors. Appropriate costumes are needed and although the cinematography was this films last saving grace there were a few rough spots. Awesome video. I have watched some of the other videos of this story on youtube and none have done a decent jkob of portraying the story nor its meaning. I am writing (or trying to write) an essay on the story.. but I couldn't figure what happened at the beginning, like, at all. So I went sarching for a visual. =] Thank you for making this .I will surely share this with my classmates and hopefully I can write a well enough essay. I liked the idea of her hanging herself. I was always under the impression that hung her self. I say this because of she wanted to use the rope to catch the girl(herself). She looked at John over her shoulder because she had a broken neck. And also because She was had to creep over his body every time(She was swinging over his body with the rope around her neck). And she was swinging because she stood on the bed post and had to reach out to fit around her neck which set her in motion to swing back and forth over John's body.

Thats an extremly interesting perspective. I like that alot actually. But that doesn't explain the long smooth smooch in the wall about the hight of a todler. That was what she put her shoulder in. So she had to have crawled around on the floor against the wall. Atleast enough to fade the wall.

I agree with other comments that this video is very well made and acted out, but that the voice-over is rushed.

I would like to assert that every word in the text has a purpose. How about the idea that when she says at the end that she got out "inspite of you and Jane," that she herself is actually Jane and that she escaped social expectations?

We read this story for my Study of Women's Literature class. For an excercise, we discussed how we would portray this story in a movie. Some of the ideas we had, were done in this film very similarly. Nice job.

If you don't understand why The Yellow Wallpaper is a good story then I feel kind of sorry for you. I take it you had to read it and make this video for school so I imagine they ruined the story by making people take turns reading it out loud during class or something stupid like that.

I listend to it on Audio Book first and then about a year later read it in class. Just like you said. With out loud reading being passed around. It was however completly my decision to make a video adaptation of it. As for the story, I liked the twist and subtleties in it but I didn't really like the writeing style it consisted of.

The overall movie was well done, with lighting and camera work and acting. However I suggest you improve the voice over, it sounds too much like someone's rushing through a script. Try to make it sound more realistic, otherwise it just seems kind of dull.

Thank you for your comment on the lighting and camera and acting. And yeah there was a problem with the voice over becuase it was rushed actually. We made this whole thing in three days but more correctly two days. Clearing the room and finding a bunch of sutible paper was an issue. And getting all the actors into the same place for long enough was also an issue. But I do understand your concern and I would love to be able to do somthing about it but all that could have been done was.

Well thank you. And its funny that you should say it looked like somthing from The Ring becuase I beileve thats how the actor understood it but I described it as the Nurses from Silent Hill.
