December 4th I got my iMac. It was my first Mac and I have to say, I don't think unless I have to for some odd reason, that I would ever switch back to PC. It is so much more customizable right out of the box. So far, the Mac experience, is 100% amazing.  FTW!

mostly web browsing, skype, msn, school ICT work and running windows on it to play some games. Im also considering whether to wait for the next refresh of the macbook pros but i cant see them coming for a long time to be honest. I just dont think apple would release it right after christmas. It would just piss a lot of people off and theyd get a lot of 14 day returns. They'll probably come end of feb/beginning of march but i dunno if i can wait that long.

Well, they've been updating their notebooks every 8-9 months lately so we'll see. With everything you mentioned, the web browsing, skype, msn, school etc and games, then the Macbook Pro is perfect for you. If the games you're gonna play are heavy games with high graphics then you would have to go for the higher 15 inch Macbook Pro.

If you want it for basic use like checking emails, surf the web, watching some youtube videos, listening to music, and watch movies, then the white one is good enough. Now if you want for more professional use like video editting, photoshop, business, then the Macbook Pro it's the way to go. I recommend the 13 inch Macbook Pro if you're still looking for an ultra portable notebook.

I have a 17" Aluminum MacBook Pro, I got the bigger one because I like to have a big screen. I have had it for a few months and I have had one problem with it, the screen was faulty, all of these gray and green lines appeared on the screen one day and Apple repaired it for free. I use bootcamp with Vista for gaming or Windows aplications. I am thinking of buying the 13" Aluminum MacBook Pro for when I start University because it will be smaller and easier to carry with me.
