Would have the Pontiac Rallye II rims that Holden used in the '70s also, preferably 8" rears and 7" up front. Wonder would 255 tyres fit on the back...? Would look cool. @ImJustKindaHere - It's a HQ Holden,an Australian car manufactured between 1971 and 1974. Basically a General Motors product but designed by General Motors Holden in Australia. They where available in a range of models and body configurations. Four door sedan models the Belmont,Kingswood, Premier,Statesman and Statesman De ville. They where also available as a wagon,Utility (pick up) Panel van and I tonne flat bed. A two door coupe was available also,it was called the Monaro.
@chickenBOB226 that's not true, turbocharger and supercharger do exactly the same thing, but turbo is powered by exhaust gases while supercharger is powered directly from the engine crankshaft.
@chickenBOB226 a suoercharger has nothing to do with bringing more fuel to the engine. And a turbo charger does not bring more air to the engine as it requires exhasut fumes to spin the turbine. look on google, or search on youtube. im sure you'll be able to do plenty more research than what you believe or have been told.
@wilsonjl16 Actually a turbo's only purpose is to press air into the cumbostion chambers, it uses the exhaust fumes, to spin, thats why most turbos dont work at low rpm's
@MrCraves yeah still, i said that uses exhaust fumes/gases to spin the turbine, and no turbo works under low rpm's. if you have a twin turbo engine then one of the turbo's is constantly spooled up, thats why with twin turbo there no turbo lag. there are still debates on which are better, turbo charger or supercharger. a turbo increases the pressure of air entering the engine. it doesn't press air into the combustion chamber, it enhances the mass of air entering the combustion chamber.
@wilsonjl16 A turbo and supercharger both increase power by forcing more air into the engine than it would take in naturally during the induction stroke - it's obviously necessary to also add more fuel with the air to prevent detonation, which is a real issue with turbocharging. Intercoolers are used to reduce det, and also increase the density of the air (cool air is more dense than hot air). A turbo and supercharge increase the efective capacity of an engine, therefore increasing power.
@wilsonjl16 Twin turbos do not necessarily reduce lag either - stock ones will as they're small - a smaller turbine will create boost at lower revs but run out of power at the top end. When you increase the size of the turbo (as I have on several cars) you increase the lag even with 2 turbos. By the way, diesel turbos make power at very low revs due to the smaller turbines they use. Of course, they don't need high-revving power.

In sequential turbo setups one does spool before the other (RX7 for instance), but that's not applicable to all setups (a GTO TT for has an identical turbo per cylinder bank and they run independently) He's also wrong about a "debate" about which is better - he sounds like a confused kid
@Stabby666 that is the most vague principle of turbo application i have ever come across. there are so many other factors that determine a turbo systems response and torque curve. you can have a correctly matched, large single setup out perform a set of smaller twins in both mid range and top-end power on an engine similar to this quite easily. and a lot cheaper too. and would definately outperform any supercharger for mid range torque.
@beeraddd I was replying in layman's terms as the previous comments displayed a complete lack of knowledge of the basics. It's not always cheaper to use a single in place of twins - it depends on the original config. I've done swaps from twins to a single turbo, and it's a LOT more involved than just upgrading the 2 original units. Again, in simple terms a single large turbo will outperform twins at the top end, but it may not be appropriate to have a setup that doesn't make power till 4k rpm.
@Stabby666 this sort of thinking is straight from the eighties. on paper your theory is sound, but there are a bunch of varying factors. a single turbo with a large exhaust housing will outperform a set of small turbo's in low rpm boost response nearly everytime on an engine like this. smaller turbos somewhat restrict engines ability to produce power in low rpm, in the form of exhaust restriction. a larger turbo can improve the restriction to a point in this instance, whilst providing mor boost

You're speaking to someone here who actually works in this area for a living (mostly ecu tuning these days, but I've also designed very successful turbo upgrades). @0187Koffi how does the smaller restrictive twins increase response. are you refering to turbo shaft rpm, or engine efficiency. a bigger turbo can spin less and produce the same amount of positve pressure at lower engine rpm. you want an engine to breath and remove exhaust gasses quicker. why would you want to restrict this with smaller exhaust housings which really hurts low rpm engine efficiency.

If someone says they got a "blown" 308 then it would be safe to say it's a supercharged 308. The term "blower" being used for a supercharger comes from the invention of the original superchargers being designed for use in blast furnaces back in the 1800's to force air into the furnaces, hence a "blower", hence a "blown" motor,

In terms of a Holden, would like a Kingswood HZ (due to the suspension ugrades this model brought in etc.) with a HQ Premier front, would look mean as. Would have the Pontiac Rallye II rims that Holden used in the '70s also, preferably 8" rears and 7" up front. Wonder would 255 tyres fit on the back...? Would look cool. Know a lad with a Monaro LE HX back in the ol' sod....

@ImJustKindaHere - It's a HQ Holden,an Australian car manufactured between 1971 and 1974. Basically a General Motors product but designed by General Motors Holden in Australia. They where available in a range of models and body configurations. Four door sedan models the Belmont,Kingswood, Premier,Statesman and Statesman De ville. They where also available as a wagon,Utility (pick up) Panel van and I tonne flat bed. A two door coupe was available also,it was called the Monaro.

@MrCraves yeah still, i said that uses exhaust fumes/gases to spin the turbine, and no turbo works under low rpm's. if you have a twin turbo engine then one of the turbo's is constantly spooled up, thats why with twin turbo there no turbo lag. there are still debates on which are better, turbo charger or supercharger. a turbo increases the pressure of air entering the engine. it doesn't press air into the combustion chamber, it enhances the mass of air entering the combustion chamber.

@wilsonjl16 A turbo and supercharger both increase power by forcing more air into the engine than it would take in naturally during the induction stroke - it's obviously necessary to also add more fuel with the air to prevent detonation, which is a real issue with turbocharging. Intercoolers are used to reduce det, and also increase the density of the air (cool air is more dense than hot air). A turbo and supercharge increase the efective capacity of an engine, therefore increasing power.

@wilsonjl16 Twin turbos do not necessarily reduce lag either - stock ones will as they're small - a smaller turbine will create boost at lower revs but run out of power at the top end. When you increase the size of the turbo (as I have on several cars) you increase the lag even with 2 turbos. By the way, diesel turbos make power at very low revs due to the smaller turbines they use. Of course, they don't need high-revving power.

@Stabby666 that is the most vague principle of turbo application i have ever come across. there are so many other factors that determine a turbo systems response and torque curve. you can have a correctly matched, large single setup out perform a set of smaller twins in both mid range and top-end power on an engine similar to this quite easily. and a lot cheaper too. and would definately outperform any supercharger for mid range torque.

@beeraddd I was replying in layman's terms as the previous comments displayed a complete lack of knowledge of the basics. It's not always cheaper to use a single in place of twins - it depends on the original config. I've done swaps from twins to a single turbo, and it's a LOT more involved than just upgrading the 2 original units. Again, in simple terms a single large turbo will outperform twins at the top end, but it may not be appropriate to have a setup that doesn't make power till 4k rpm.

@Stabby666 this sort of thinking is straight from the eighties. on paper your theory is sound, but there are a bunch of varying factors. a single turbo with a large exhaust housing will outperform a set of small turbo's in low rpm boost response nearly everytime on an engine like this. smaller turbos somewhat restrict engines ability to produce power in low rpm, in the form of exhaust restriction. a larger turbo can improve the restriction to a point in this instance, whilst providing mor boost

@0187Koffi how does the smaller restrictive twins increase response. are you refering to turbo shaft rpm, or engine efficiency. a bigger turbo can spin less and produce the same amount of positve pressure at lower engine rpm. you want an engine to breath and remove exhaust gasses quicker. why would you want to restrict this with smaller exhaust housings which really hurts low rpm engine efficiency.

@Tyrexs1 nope, turbo's have a "boost" guage because the pressure of the forced induction caused by a turbo is generally referred to as "boost". If someone says they got a "blown" 308 then it would be safe to say it's a supercharged 308. The term "blower" being used for a supercharger comes from the invention of the original superchargers being designed for use in blast furnaces back in the 1800's to force air into the furnaces, hence a "blower", hence a "blown" motor,
