  • I was about 11/12years old when my dad went on a trip to Etheopia.

He came back with an EP with exactly this version of "The shepherd with the flute"

We listened to it over and over again, untill the EP was totaly worn out, and sounded much like this...

Since 5 years he sufferd from C.O.P.D...a horrible lung desease.

He was the sweetest, kind hearted man anyone could ever meet.

    Yesterday he passed away...

I wish I had some kind of copy of this symphony in my posesion.

    Rest in peace Dad!

  • wish Ethiopia the best of futures... for all it's people! i am tired of being ethnicist ! i love all my Ethiopian brother and sisters! we are all related after all!

  • Some body from Radio Ethiopia, please find and upload better quality of this music! this is poor quality.

  • If Mozart and Bethhoven heard this music ,they would raise their hat and bow to Ashenafi. What a shame that this piece does not have international audience.

  • it takes me back to my lovely country, ethiopia. am playing with konejajit behasabe!!!lol everything is there ,ezih min ale?

  • This is really quite beautiful piece of music and it is remakable that a composer of this high talent is not as celebrated as strongly as western composers.

Enchanting, timeless and deeply comforting music indeed!

  • Dear Sir, I enjoyed this piece immensely. I would encourage you to recapture some of the Ethiopian music, particularly those considered as "anthems" by many because they are timeless to your list of postings and compositions. This is true music designed to warm the heart and not just as merchandising. I thank you!

  • The best and most memorable Classical music of Ethiopian History. Masterpiece. Ashenafi really did it on this one

  • beautiful song, and the pics too

  • ትምህርት፡በቴሌቪዥንን፡ያስታውሰኛል

  • Good job....very talented musician. Any one can tell me where is Dr Ashenafi Kebede now?

  • Intense!! I cant describe wat i feel!!!

    thnk u for uploading.

May God give the Horn the peace and prosperity it deserves.

    amen

  • I've always thought this classical was one of beethoven's or the likes. and i've always loved it,..now when i found out that it was made by our own, my anger n frustration towards the so called "ethiopian arts & culture" ministry was one lousy cabinet.

what a piece of art it is. just beautiful.

    R.i.p Dr Ashenafi Kebede !

  • @hailu33 you shouldn't blame the ministry just because you did not know what it was.

  • It is such an intense symphony!!! My heart is racing!!!

  • this sympony is probably the top five. i even choose this over beetoven symphony 9. it has so much sole and so romantic and dramatic. what a work!! it remind me of my child hood. love it thank you!!!

  • this song reminds me Asamenew Gebre Wold and his 'Agerhen Eweq' program andmy father who i miss so much.

  • Nice classical any ways.......

  • Wow.. this sound is so familiar to me it is like I heard it all the time day and night in Ethiopia.. I can't believe i didn't know the musician's name until this video.. thank you.

  • reminds me too much of derg.

  • ummmmmmmmmmm just at the night time, close ur eye, try to slow your heart bit, and open this music then feel when ur soul start singing. 10Q

  • Why do I want to cry when I here this music?I remember my late father General Zewdu Lulseged and the beautiful Ethiopia he died for. This is to all who lost their lives for the love and honor of their country.

  • One need to be really in touch with his inner soul to be able to compose such a masterpiece and this one is my all time favorite! Thank you very much for sharing!!!!!!!!!!
