It'd be cool if I could say that having two singers does as much for this band as having two drummers does, but the more I listen to them . . . its just not true. I'm not liking Phil's vocals at all. Laura's are better, and I think I like her droning singing the most. I think it is Phil's singing that is keeping me from buying any of their albums :(

I kind of see what you're saying. This band is so ethereal and I dunno... beyond metal. It's fitting that a band so otherworldly amongst what is considered to be 'metal' actually has a female singer!

Phil's singing is the most stock element to it. Everything else is weird and cool and magical and oddly beautiful... and then you've got Phil's stock grunting over the top.

That said - Static Tensions is probably the best metal album I've heard in, oh - 15 years? It's up there with MOP.

For me it works out really well with a sort of normal not totally unique voice singing sort of "against" the strange stuff. But well, its just oppinions. No matter what - Kylesa is an amazing band
