Well, yes, but you have to notice that dubstep is way more... liable to be popular because it's slow and it's got some nice flowing beat. So it's easy to add some more happy melodies and female vocals so that it sounds like dubdance.

Honestly I can't even imagine how could darkstep become lighter. It's too dark from the founding, luckily :)

@HSFurY You could say the same about drum & bass. Liquid DnB is way more accessible than this sort of stuff. Dubstep has it's heavy, dark, evil tunes as well that many dubstep fans would hate. I also agree with RobChinn, Counterstrike's recent EP Violent Neon Robots is brilliant. Dubstep is far from ruined. Sure, some of the more commercial artists are overrated but it's fairly easy to find decent, 'underground' stuff that is less popular. Such as Broken Note - need I say more?

Agreed, Broken Note is quallity stuff. I don't say that dubstep is riuned. But as the matter of fact I don't actually listen to it /that much/. All that I wanted to say about it is that there is major flow /eg. UKF dubstep/ with tunes mixed with house, electro house or others, and it's not easy to get to the underground. The same sittuation happened to Hardstyle in 2005-6 moreless. New artists who created style far different from the original

Then, ppl started to listen to hardstyle, which had nothing in common with it, but the name. In few years the amount of fans multiplied and the music went just more and more 'mass'. Now it's 2011 and hardstyle is totally gone - this is sth that MIGHT happen to dubstep in future.
