  • its a necular carrier u bitch!

  • when is the video of this set completed???

  • @0waffel0 I will do another in the spring sometime which is when I estimate this kit should be complete. It got off to a rather late start to begin with.

  • how big is the ship when its done

  • I find painting the deck lines is very sloppy. Are very narrow colored tapes availalble that can be laid down instead to provide nice looking smooth edges?

    handocbob@yahoo.com.

  • @handocbob The deck lines are a huge problem I find. I think the best thing for you will be to find a great photo etch kit and go with it that way. Then you can paint the kit before mounting it to the model and still get amazing details. You can even get pre-painted photo etch kits for this model I believe.

  • @handocbob

I'm in the middle of building this kit right now, and struggled with how to paint the deck. Starfighter Decals has a nice set of decals for this exact model, along with decals for the air wing. You can use the decals for the flight deck rather than waste time painting and fixing mistakes.

  • Serious question: I have the same model kit. The problem I found when I opened mine is that very few decals were included (only the numbers "65" that go on the tower and forward end of the flight deck). I contacted Revell about this any they said they didn't have any info on it because it's a product of Germany. I would have to go to Revell's German website to ask. Once I got a reply they said to check with the USA office b/c they didn't have any! Does yours have more decals???

  • @VMIFerrari No, mine came with the same ones yours has. There are upgrade kits you can get though, more realistic looking parts etc... My best advice is to research the hell outta this ship and build the most realistic looking copy you can. Just make sure you pick an era that is of the most interest to you, and stick with the details as she went through alot of changes over the years.

  • @ssrc30 Thanks for the info. I'm afraid I don't know much about aftermarket model parts/upgrades; do you know of any companies or websites that specialize in these areas? Thanks again.

  • @VMIFerrari There are tons of companies out there that sell aftermarket kits for these models. Eduard is one of them. They sell some of the best PhotoEtch kits you will ever see. I have used their products for years and have never been disappointed in the final result.

  • i agree with the end loader.. i use the box to paint with.. this kit is $18.00 at hobby shop where I live. Holding out to buy the USS Constitution for $64.00

  • @Kopihucky $18 is pretty good for a model these days. Everything is expensive where I live though. Keep me posted on the Constitution build, I am interested in that one as well.

  • @Kopihucky.I just have a question for you. Is it possible to take a 1/485 scale WW2. u.s.s Yorktown and convert it into a u.s.s enterprise CV.6 because they don't make the enterprise in that scale. I dont why but they should it is the most famous ship of WW2.

  • @mav8977 No Idea.. I just bought my first model not long ago

  • how much is it? please respond.

  • @TheBambipower I paid $15 for it on Ebay. Should be about $35 in any local hobby/craft shop though.

  • Do you have the HMS Belfast

  • @Patrick995270 No, I haven't been able to find her anywhere where I live and she's not easy to get online either.

  • could you please tell me where you got it from i cant find it any where ??? please answer

  • its soooooooooooooooo annoying because im trying to find this ship in a 1:1200 from airfix

  • @STALKERsks I wouldn't float this one but I am sure there are lots of folks who have tried. I'm actually gonna get myself a 1/72 Gato and RC it though.

  • @STALKERsks I agree, but if someone wanted to, I am sure they could find a way to make it float. Best to keep it as a display piece though lol...

  • Does it float on water?? If it does or does not. please tell me

  • @Undertaker9503 No, it doesn't float. It likely could if you converted it to an RC model but that would involve alot of extra work to water proof it, install ballast and electronics. Might be a worthwhile project for someone who has the time and patience for it though.

  • @Undertaker9503 its a plastic model doesnt float it just satys there and show people hows the master going it might be hard work making this thing complete ok doesnt siwm on water not like a boat RC control
