Liberace had to be just about the best pianist that ever lived. He could play any thing, and about ever style music there ever was.I used to watch his TV show all the time back in the late 60's.
He's like the best piano player i've ever seen. When i saw him perform this song in the video from 1940 my jaw just dropped because i've never seen someone play that fast. He's just incredible. He seems like a very fun guy because he always smiles and i love it :)
He was an incredible man, amazingly gifted and brilliant. People made fun of him for being gay but not one of those people could match him in talent or in grace. In every video you watch of him, you will see a warm smile and a talented person doing what he loved. There will never be another like him, and sadly the world didnt appreciate him when they had him. Now we are left with these videos of his love for music and of a sweet human being....... Thank you for posting this video
@Stevesheart1 I so agree. I was never a fan of his, but I was watching the Smother's Bros, and came across his clip there, which was fantastic! Can I ask you, what do you think of him suing newspapers that implied he was gay? I still can't believe he was born outside of Milwaukee and look forward to going up their to see where he was born. Have you been up their?
Liberace never owed anyone an explanation for anything. He owned his talent - and he alone. He pioneered the grandiose style of stage performance and he did much of it at his own financial expense. He also donated MILLIONS of dollars to charity everywhere. He was very generous man who asked for nothing, except to perform - and that he did. He was absolutely remarkable. I miss him terribly.
Without a doubt, the greatest, most versatile, pianist of all time. If you haven't heard it,, listen to his Boogie Woogie...16 to the bar... unbelievable
being a little kid i confused him with Benny Hill....hheheeh, they look similar.
i always liked Benny Hill.....but i could never see too much of Liberace here, but i liked too, music can be done without this "I AM SO SERIOUS" stupid thing..
In our days there are no more genius men like him. Only comedians, stupid commercial, speichellecker und Heloten. Einfach ekelhaft und widerwärtig the showbizz today. Brot und Spiele. Kunst kommt von Können. Danke Liberace! R.I.P. with love.

Ridiculous - playing the clown, wearing a laughable dress - his arm moves are that exaggerated it´s not even funny or showmanship anymore - just ridi....
And here is is... 2000-whatever, and instead of accomplished artists on TV, we have accomplished losers- repulsive morbidly obese fat fucks that can't get out of bed so they lie in their twinkie-shit, narcissistic housewife bitches of hollywood, and endless pointless shit about "how it's made" and all the bullshit CSPAN cocksuckers.
I remember seeing his show when i was a little girl and my father making remarks about him i couldnt understand. We all like dhis piano playing .But when i got older i found out my father was trying to say Liberace was gay.
I love Liberace! I watched him on TV as a child with my grandmother! My own granddaughter is now a fan, thanks to all the CD's and VHS's available. I even took her to his museum in Las Vegas! She loved it, and is probably the only 10 year old that understands the need for a "left handed driver!" I love your clips and I hope you send more!!!
Interesting. Tatum was blind - but he learned to use both hands with equal speed and accuracy. But Liberace's left hand here is ridiculously fast! Tatum was popular among classical composers at the time too. Liberace could probably have been a brilliant classical composer, but he saw how much money there was in vegas!
Oh, also, Tatum (as a child) would learn piano music from the old 'punched hole' piano-player music, but he didnt realize he was learning DUET music, so he was essentially learning piano music for 4 hands! So he quickly developed abilities, while still as child, that many performers NEVER develop.
Also, its often said that Tatums best performances were after-hours for his friends and private viewers.
his smile gets on my nerves XDD but he is great
