@fiapop Hi No I have never clipped his wings...don't agree as birds fly and stopping that would be cruel and frightening for him. Jasper comes out every day and fly's through all the rooms of the house. He has a play draw in the kitchen and likes to throw his toys out and gets excited as I pick them all up again lol

If they don't, that might mean a well-behaved bird or a very patient/tolerant owner.

DudeItsAnya - The Best place to get a bird is from a decent breeder. African Grey parrots range from around $900 to $2,000 and up. African Greys need a lot of attention and stimulation. They can easily live well over 50 years if properly cared for. If they are not properly cared for, they can get mean, and harm themselves as a result of loneliness and boredom. A common form of self mutilation in birds is feather plucking. African Greys are definately not beginner birds.

If you have never had a bird before, you should consider getting a Budgerigar (parakeet). They are sweet and easy to care for as well as inexpensive. Budgies can also be taught to talk and can have very wide vocabularies. Don't get a bird just because you want it to talk though. Not all birds talk. With Budgies, males are more likely to talk than females. To teach them to talk, simply repeat the words you want them to learn. Say the words calmly and clearly.
